While it would have been nice to see another 'regular joe (jill?)' character show up again, and Sito was a cutie, I t hink it would have ruined it to have her show up again.
Unless her 'dying' on the mission was just the start of the actuall mission.
Many speculate she was supposed to come back at some point, but I have never heard anything concrete about it.
Maybe she would have been a prisoner? Or a converted spy (There are 5 lights)?
I was just wondering if this info came from something like the DS9 Companion or some other pseudo official source.
Sort of how Kira was supposed to be Ro but Michelle Forbes and the producers couldn't reach an agreement.
Don't know the source of the info on Memory Alpha, but I do know that she'll probably turn up alive in my game. Since one of my players' characters is kind of dating her at the Academy right now. Going to be a crappy summer break for him, her being off on Enterprise and all. :D
This guy has brought Sito Jaxa back in his fan-fiction, which I occasionally steal ideas from.

Joe's USS Liberty is well known to me... he is a prolific member of the STPMA. :)
I'll never mention you steal ideas from him, he has strange possessive values on his work (which one could argue is simply stolen from Star Trek, but I digress)
I don't remember having seen this in the DS9 Companion, but it's been some time I've read it (extremely interesting and insightful book IMHO).
Having Sito Jaxa back could have been interesting... especially handled with DS9 grim tone. I'd see her having become a Cardassian spy after a very hard brainwashing, and maybe being killed by Kira or Worf because of it (the effect of the brainwashing disappearing only while she's dying). Okay, maybe this would have been too angsty even for DS9 (but that's something I'd not be surprised to see in the relaunch novels).
Just curious, but what has the actress who portrayed Sito been doing lately?
She was a cutie, and her death was unfortunate. However, if done correctly it could be more heart renching then her supposide death.
I agree, but it owuld have to have been done during the DW, afterwards would seem... I dunno... like there was less to lose?

Having her turn up alive, on DS9 would have raised some suspicions, especially from her former boss, Worf.
If during the war, it would be blood test city.
Of course, there's always a time loop. (She, just prior to the mission, was sent forward in time, where she helped Worf and company, only to be drawn back to her death.
A bit 'Cosmic Reset Button'y, but it would work. (and we all know certain producers just love to have time travel episodes!
Not even that. Remember the episode when Bashir, General Martok, and Worf were in prison. She could have helped them out . . . and died as they were escaping. Like pulling the stitches out of a healing wound again, bringing back the old painful memories, and creating new ones. And here's a twist, have her, in her dying breath tell Bashir that she loved him.Quote:

My wife plays her sister, Sito Rana, who is the Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Intrepid, (Intrepid class). She thinks her sister is dead (and incidentally hates Picard - the last message she had from Jaxa was that Picard had chewed her out. She never discovered (for obvious reasons) that it was part of Picard's plan. As far as she's concerned, Picard ripped her a new one then sent her off to die).
The long-term plan is that eventually it will become clear to Rana that Jaxa is alive. Of course, Jaxa has been "turned" by the Obsidian Order and works as a double-agent for the Cardassians these days.
My plan is to push Rana into a situation where she must choose between her comrades, her ship and the Federation...and her sister's life. I already know what she'll choose, but I know there'll be tears involved! (My wife gets very into character when she plays! :D ).

In my Star Trek: Challenger campaign (not currently running), Sito Jaxa was found barely alive with several other prisoners (Thomas Riker and Ro Laren among them) in Cretok Nor an abandoned Cardassian station. They'd been sealed in the cargo holds when the station was cut off, and had survived for a few months by means best left to the imagination (and which Starfleet is explicitly not going into, except under the confidentiality seal of Counsellors and other medical personnel). Ro and Riker escaped, but Lieutenant Sito is now assigned to the Federation delegation on Cretok Nor.

I am reading Avatar again, and Ro is on DS9... in what book did she join them?
Ro joined them on TNG near the end.
That was the Maquis... not the DS9 crew.
What I am trying to find out is what DS9 book she joins the crew of the station in. :)

That's the begining of her on the station. She isn't mentioned in any other books on the station as they are (the avatar books) the first of the Relaunch novels.
Okay then, what a weird way to add a character of such history.
I was under the impression that there was something else, must have been wrong.
It's entirely possible a DS9 book dealt with her time in between her maquis days and the war. But I havn't heard of anything specifically.

Well, the adventure I ran which established was intended as a setup for a new phase of the Challenger campaign, but it never went any farther than that. The intent was that they would be the core (along with Admiral Layton) of the Renegade faction of the surviving Maquis, as opposed to the Maquis Lobby (led by Rebecca Eddington). I've not gotten around to finishing this part of the site, as the campaign fizzled out.
In my most recent Trek campaign, I had Sito, Thomas Riker and other persons being used as slave labor (about 25,000 EPW's and political prisoners) by the dominion forces to build an artifical wormhole generator near the badlands. I could swear that I read something like this in a trek novel, but couldn't remember the original source. I plan on adding Sito to the PC's ship as a crewman following the end of the dominion war.
I cannot remember however is Sito was featured in the novels, but I remember Ro being in them.
Anywho, maybe someone here can refresh my memory, then I'll know what I'm looking for when I hit the garage looking for those books in the ever growing pile.

Sito Jaxa will probably reappear in my campaign; I kind of always assumed she'd been captured, and handed over to Gul Madred or someone like him. In my campaign, Madred is among the unaccounted for/assumed dead following the devastation of Cardassia by Dominion forces. Elim Garak remains suspicious of this, because Madred's records also disappeared, including the information on just who he interrogated. But no one knows for sure if the two events are linked, or not. My plan is to have Jaxa appear as an agent (brainwashed) of a now independent Madred (who is smart enough to realize that the Cardassian/Federation rapproachment is likely to include the handing over for trial of certain of the more... enthusiastic... members of the Obsidian Order). Madred fled Cardassia with the records, which include the code phrases that give him control over a handful of such individuals, and various other resources.
