Nope. Feel free, that's what they're posted for, after all! :)Quote:
I am in a PBEM on the USS Constitution. I was wandering if we could pinch, err.... borrow your greyscale of her?
Now that's a sleek looking ship! Your doing wonderful work TFVanguard, keep it up.

Sadly, there are ships you want to apologize for. This is one of them.. the USS Bakker from Marvel Comics.

Wow. Neat.Quote:

Alex
The 'South Bend' Enterprise. I had one of those as well. You.. can't really make the Bakker out of it, though. (Even ignoring the second saucer assembly). I don't remember any of the SB variants getting that ugly. :)Quote:

What are the four long "dohickeys" on the Soyuz? They look like they would be something like a turbolaser, if such a thing existed in Trek, but having a weapon that size on a Trek ship is just weird. I hope it's something other than a weapon.
Please tell me it is...
Acvtually, I kind of like it. I could see it being used in my game as an outdated AOFW cruiser from the pre-Federation membership days...Quote:

The basic reason they didn't make many? The Khitomer accords rendered the need for the ship moot.Quote:

but, officially it's supposed to be sensors (which makes a ton of sense, since the ship was designed to patrol the various Neutral Zones sepatating us from the cloak users) so....
[/engage fanwankery]
When the ship was originally created, the designers included high power phaser cannon arrays to create an upgunned variant of the versatile Miranda chassis. After the Khitomer accords, many of the vessels were shifted over to the Romulan neutral zone, where the heavier weapon pods were replaced with sensor pods to detect cloaked vessels better. While the game stats reflect the later variant with it's sensor pods, the Soyuz was lost before the upgrade, and so, was found in it's original, upgunned configuration; hence the barrels.
More advanced phaser materials later caused similar power outputs for weapons, so the phasor cannon idea was phased out in favor of regular ship phasors.
Further work on phasor cannon emplacements was suspended in the shift of Starfleet away from military solutions, and more toward exploring the galaxy around them.

Well, the same 'source' for this also calls Kirk's Enterprise 'Exploration Cruiser' (despite the on-screen Heavy Cruiser reference), declares there are no fighters in Starfleet, and also says that the Saratoga in DS9 also has sensor pod extensions... that HAPPEN to fire phasers, I guess.Quote:

Federation 'Mustang' Fighter
It's not often that I get to try out something new and run with it, so I enjoyed doing this. Basically, this is the SFB Fighter, only made with lines matching the shuttles shown through the TOS instead of a bad Flash Gordon episode. :)
I'll be statting this puppy for CODA soon enough. The design includes placement of two phasers and two torpedo/ordinance assemblies. We'll see what Starships and the Fasa Construction Manual allow for soon enough!

Hee. True dat. I forgot about the Saratoga.Quote:

USS Aaken Class Freighter
Ugh, I hated doing this ship. Dana Knutson once again proves a complete lack of effort, despite this ship having mostly original lines. Every last line had to be redrawn and rescaled, with stated components once again added to the artwork where it had been lacking before... ugh...

USS Revenge Class Battleship
This is a request, really, on making a TMP-era 'Galaxy Refit' ship. I decided to fill her out accordingly and put her as part of the 'scrapyard fleet' assembled after the Borg attack in TNG and before/during the Dominion war. She's heavily gunned, but, like most of the scrapyard fleet, relies on components that are nigh hopelessly outdated by the time she's in service.
http://www.pixelsagas.com/forum/file...evenge_197.gif
I foresee much pain...much pain indeed.... ;)
Might even have to stat this one out.
Shouldn't the central nacelle be just a tad bit higher? While I don't agree with the divisable by two rule for nacelles, nor the 50% visability with the other nacelle. I feel the Bussard should be clear of the ship. But that's just my opinion.
I originally had it there, but it looked really bad. I decided that since the third engine was likely just being used for power and not warp ANYWAY, that setting it back down wasn't a big deal in this case.Quote:

I'm just looking at it thinking the center nacelle could stand to be raised 3 or 4 pixals, in the profile view it looks as if the ventral portion of the nacelle falls below the dorsal protion of the impulse engine.
Yeah, not EXACTLY the most sexy part of the starfleet...

USS Consolation Class Hospital Ship
(And, yes, the model-maker for this one DID take a medical pod and strap a saucer and engines onto it...)
http://www.pixelsagas.com/forum/file...lation_205.gif
Which makes one wonder, since there are about 15 different tug/pod transports why combining one with a medical pod into a dedicated medical ship would be strictly necessary.Quote:

USS Daedalus Class Cruiser
Nothing special here, just the 'canon' version of the Daedalus, which I'm putting down as a 'cheap, quickly-built cruiser built for the Romulan war'. I did enlarge her from 105 to 150 meters, just to make some SENSE of the deck listings, etc.
http://www.pixelsagas.com/forum/file...edalus_881.gif
For the backstory, I had this be an 'emergency replacement' design, fufilling an urgent and underestimated need in the star-fleet (how many times did Kirk have to send vital supplies somewhere?!). I figured that they would only 'bash' a few of these ships out in a pinch, with the first true dedicated Medical Frigates coming out with 2271 technology a decade later.Quote:

This is the 'other' FASA ship that I really wanted to avoid doing. Like the Aaken, I found it really hard to reconsile the lines with a TOS-era ship (despite the thrown on FWF engine) , and, of course, the lines on the three views didn't match up. This time, I went with the 'port view bias' to redraw the ship. Overall, it came out pretty good, but the top view looks positively barge-like.
Which doesn't bother me, since it IS a colony ship.
http://www.pixelsagas.com/forum/file...chrane_157.gif
Honestly I wouldn't of tapered the main hull of the Cochrane.
Also, error with the top view vs. the side view:
Bridge dome on the side is round with the air-lock, top view looks like it's continuing to the end of the...deck 2-3 extention.
Hate to keep doing this to you. ;)
Out of curiousity, do you happen to have the SFB War Destroyer done up in greyscale, TFVanguard? I noticed you mentioned it on the mailing list, but I don't think I've seen it on these boards. If you did, I must have missed it.
