Similar question to the other one. What are the 5 worst TV shows ever?
I fifgure that I may as well get this ball rolling as well:
5) Time Trax: A program that has ripped off every known sci-fi cliche known to man in the four episodes that have been shown on British TV.
4) SeaQuest DSV (Series 1 & 2): A talking dolphin, and I thought Jar Jar was irritating (I don't class Series 3 in this as Michael Ironside at least made it barely watchable).
3) Doctor Who (British version): As a Brit I feel I really must support this example of Brit SF but it is so bl***y cheap looking. Nice plots but everything you could see was so cheap.
2) Doctor Who (US Version): Paul McGann made a good go at the Doctor but it just wasn't Doctor Who.
1) Space £19.99: Absolute total and utter s**t from start to finish.
Please... In this case we could have many, many arguements... Im not a huge Dr Who fan, but I remember many hours hidden behind my grans sofa when I was 3-5 years old because of Dr Who... http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/wink.gifQuote:

But what the BBC version lacked in budget it more than made up for in writing and enthusiasm.
I would personally group it in with pleasant kistch than say its the worst TV ever. You want worse?
Prisoner Cell Block H
Go on, bet you cant argue with that! http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/biggrin.gif

Dan.
"A couple of thoughts from a random mind!"
Okay, I admit it, there is nothing good that could possibly be said about PCBH.
Worst 5?. Hmm...that's a little harder...
Lost in Space
Roseanne
Police Rescue (Aussie show...bleh)
The Brady Bunch (has to be in there!)
B5: Crusade
------------------
"Every atom in our bodies was forged in the furnace of ancient stars - it is our destiny to return home..."
The Steven Webber Show
The Brian Benben Show
Blackfly (Gotta be the worst show in history but required for Canadian content)
Blackfly (Trust me on a US station it would not have even been picked up)
Blackfly (So bad it must be listed 3 times in the worst 5)
Muussst change channel...........
worst SFTV:
Sea Quest
Babylon 5
Buck Rogers
X Files
Earth Final Conflict
worst sitcoms:
Friends
Facts of Life
Different Strokes
Married With Children
I Love Lucy

2) Jerry Springer
3) Go-Bots
4) When Animals Attack
5) MTV
You've seen Barney??!!
Every low-clash, trash talk show from Morton Downey, Jr. on ties for 1st place.
Hercules -- if you really love the Greek myths, you'll know why...
Airwolf
Stingray
Doctor Who -- yes, it's amusing. It's also bloody awful.
Anyone remember Cop Rock?
No particular order
Any of the "Judge Judy" genre
Any of the "Martin" or "Living Single" genre
3rd Rock from the Sun
Rosie Odonnel (or any tv daytime talk show)
Drew Carey

Cochrane,
OK SeaQuest I can see (after the first few shows), but B5???!!! What have you got against B5???
I never gave it much chance, but was bored by what I saw of it.
The Bold and the Beautiful
The Young and the Restless
Days of our Lives
Oprah
Sally Jesse Raphael
Jerry Springer
Boot Camp (pretty cheesy, ripped-off and tired concept and format)
...oh, you only wanted 5? Sorry...
------------------
A couple of comments to throw in times of stress to that person who's really annoying you...
"Oohhh. Did I just step on your itty-bitty ego?"
"How many times do I have to flush before you go away?"
Hmm, five worst TV shows EVER...
1) 700 Club (any televangelist really)
2) SURVIVIOR (Any Reality TV actually)
3) Anything with Krappy Lee Gifford (Actually)
4) Quantum Leap (Liked Bakula actually)
5) Strip Mall
Okay, I admit that maybe limiing this to the five worst TV shows ever was a little limiting and besides all I used as my selection was Science-Fiction. With great pleasure I inflict upon you the 5 worst TV shows of all time, in no particular order.
-Neighbours: incredibly cheesy, Australian soap.
-Bear in the Big Blue House: Caught about 15 seconds (about 16 seconds to much) of the opening titles this morning and thought "Bl***y hell!, what is this crapola".
-Jerry Springer: One really, incredibly bad program.
-Any episode of SeaQuest without Michael Ironside in it.
-Mortal Kombat Conquest: 25 episodes of crap with quite possibly the most bizarre last episode of a show since the Prisoner (we're getting canned, let's kill everyone).
The problem with Babylon 5 was, you had to see (nearly) every single episode to follow the 5 (?) season story arc.Quote:

Some of the worst:
Farscape
the one about the fire fighters (70s I think)
Chips (California Highway Patrol)
.....!?
Why the H... did I ever watch these !!!
When thinking of B5, just do what I do, IGNORE SEASON 5!!!!!! Worst season, made no sense and was completly disjointed from the rest of the series.
Manimal

Probably 'Emergency' if the characters were Gage and Desoto. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gifQuote:

'Code Red' if it was a very short series (not totally sure about this one).
I liked the Eagles, the Mk 9 Hawk and a lot of the model work. Acting could be stiff (Barbara Bain and molasses in January come to mind) and second season writing left a lot to be desired (What Irwin Allen type creature is Maya turning into this week). I view the first season a lot like ST:TNG and ST http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/biggrin.gifS9 first seasons, not quite there but showing potential. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gifQuote:

My nominees for the mindless drivel award:
Married with Children
Unhappily Ever After
Who's the Boss?
90210
The Dukes of Hazzard
Cleopatra 2525 gets an honorable mention for the worst TV episode that I couldn't stop watching. It held the same kind of gruesome fascination as a train wreck. I just had to watch to see how badly the writers could screw up a concept that was really awful to begin with.

LUGTrek isn't really dead. Not as long as we remember it.

I watched Airwolf, and read a magazine article once that explained that the Helos frame couldnt do any of the following
1) carry the guns/missles shown
2) carry the ammo for said systems
3) carry the computer system shown
not to mention the silly mach2 crap :-)

I'll limit my 5 worst to shows that are "sci-fi-ish" and recent.
5) Buffy the Vampire Slayer
4) Angel
3) V.I.P.
2) Roswell
1) Yoyager
Steve
V.I.P. is sci-fi-ish?
Oh right the cybernetic enhancements! http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
OK, I won't go into detail about why they are bad. I'm sure everyone can figure out those for themselves:
5. Survivor (or any of these types of shows)
4. V.I.P
3. Seaquest
2. Nightman (I can't believe NO ONE listed this one)
and the #1 worst show of ALL time
1. Black Scorpion
Need I say more?
I knew nightman was a terrible show right from the start, therefore never watched it.
Styro
if you have a couple hundred grand I am sure you could get a surplus HIND from the Russians or of the sattelite nations
Dave
Could be. Desoto sounds familiar.Quote:

"THANK" YOU FOR REMEMBERING ME ! ! !
;-)
5: Space 1999 (Can't stand it)
4: SeaQuest (So annoying...)
3: Babylon-5 (Startrek Clone with lack of creativity)
2: X-Files (Well, some with ET were good, but when it come with Deamon, Tree-Mutant, Zombie...)
1: Buffy (Its so Black and White, Good guys, Bad Guys, I even cannot understand why peaple like that... Somebody can explain ?)
No problem http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gifQuote:

Do you even need to ask?!
Jerry -yuck- Springer
-Robbert goes away to wash his mouth-
-Robbert comes back to his keyboard-
And, also: Battlestar Galactica
It was bad, looked crappy, compared to TOS and Star Wars;
Hercules, Xena, Sinbad and last but not least Sheena.
Hercules was fun at first, but they've been twisting mythology sooooo much (and Anthopny Quinn stopped playing Zeus http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/wink.gif)
Talon, you got the other one -- Black Scorpion. My God...the horror, the horror...
As for Airwolf: Bell 222 series couldn't handle the weight for the weaponry claimed (if I recall it was something like a pair of 40mm and a pair of 30mm chain guns, plus missiles.) You might be able to put 7.62mm chain guns on her, but not in the area they had them...those of the housings for the landing gear.
There was a helicopter in the 1970s experimented with for rocket propulsion -- I believe it was the Cheyenne. She was a big bugger and sucked fuel hugely. The main problem was the switch to jet power often played havok with the rotor flywheel assembly. And she wasn't supersonic; the rotor mechanism can't handle the pressure differential.
Boy you guys really have never watched bad TV have you??? Most of these series I've seen on this list are average, and some I would find questionable. Try these ones out:
1) Manimal
2) Salvage 1 (Boy that was very bad. What a concept, Andy Griffith owns a junk yard, has visions of building his own rocket and jetting off to solve problems)
3) Galactica 1980 (plumbing the depths of human depravity)
4) Enis (like the Dukes of Hazard really needed a spin off?)
5) Joni Loves Cachi (boy we needed that spin off too)
Some other bad ones: Buck Rodgers (2nd Season), Bring Em Back Alive, War of the Worlds (really bad Canadian sci-fi, yea), Wonder Woman (1st season was awsome when it was set in WWII, then inexplicably they moved it to modern times and really screwed it up.
