Greetings and Salutations everyone. Work progresses on the Merchants and Boomers material in the meantime here is my attempt at the Rigelians as mentioned in TOS,DS9,STO and Enterprise.
I need to work on the bonus edges still if anyone has any suggestion please share them.
Pacifist
Seasoned(Maybe)
Everyman(Perhaps)
Would they or would they not have Psionic? (that is the question)
I think it might be a minority factor similar to the Romulans.
I've made a few changes I think it's playable would someone be willing to try it out?
I got excited for a moment there, I thought it was Rigellians that you statted out, not Rigelians. I am currently in the plotting phase of statting out Rigellians
Rigellians:

You can find those here http://strpg.patrickgoodman.org/
Alien Compendium 1.0 by Scott Rhymer (p.14)
I mentioned the Rigellians in the text Memory Alpha calls them the Chelon. But I liked them as well.
Seasoned ?
I couldn't find any reference to this as an Edge in the Player's Guide, or in any of the netbooks I've downloaded. I did find Seasoned Spacer as a Merchant Professional Ability in A Piece of the Action.
Is this a new species trait exclusive to the Rigelians ? What are it's in-game effects ?
Otherwise this looks like a wonderful write-up, and since I have two Rigelians on the USS Cavalier, I'd be glad to give it a try.
EDIT: Ok, never mind. I found it in Aliens, under Orions. Just goes to show you I'm a touch scatterbrained sometimes. Because I've done that too. Ported a Trait from one Species to another if it worked. And after reading up on Orions, this certainly works well for the Rigelians.
If you've ever gotten a hold of Worlds, you'll discover that there are a fair number of species that can call themselves Rigelian (two Ls are apparently optional), at least one of which is Vulcanoid (see "Journey to Babel" for anecdotal evidence, if you like). The book also includes bare-bones species layouts for at least three of them. One of these days in my copious unstructured free time, I'll see about finding that material a different venue, since Worlds is pretty much impossible to come by legally anymore.
I have worlds as well I used onscreen evidence [mostly] although I think the Rigel system is a goldmine for races. I chose to ignore the novels as the information in them can vary from author to author.
How about Ifinish reading the Worlds section on the Rigel system and have a crack at writing up the others apart from Rigel four which has been already done?
The alien compendium is definitely interesting, though many are not quite how I'd like to see the race. And, as there is so little canon info on many of them, there is no reason not to have a few different versions floating around. Besides, I am not about to scrap my work on a few races that appear in the compendium. Though it is great to see that someone else is using some of those pretty much forgotten races (Saurians, heh).
Saurians are in STO which I thinks a nice nod to the movies
There's also Snead's material from Sky Princes of Orion. He wrote up a CODA version for it when he posted it on RPG.net:
http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=185614
Memory Beta uses a lot of that info along with items from a book called Mindmeld I think. I'll sit down with my copy of worlds and see what I can do about this mess
Rigel1
Rigel2
Rigel3
Rigel4
Rigel5
Rigel6
Rigel7
Rigel?
So far we have roughly five different rigelian species including the butterfly girls from Ent which worlds do you think each belongs to?
Hmmm... so:
Turtle-Rigellians, which appeared in TMP
Rigelians, which appeared in ENT.
Rigelians, which are physiologically similar to Vulcans, and may be the same as above.
One of those have four or five genders.
The "Kaylar" (which I'm not 100% convinced isn't a mishearing of 'Killer') of Rigel VII, which appeared in TOS.
Add the Orions to that, if you wish. There's nothing indicating (now) that the butterfly girls were Rigelians, especially considering the froggy looking dockmaster in the deleted scene was also referred to as Rigelian. Of course, we could read that to be merely a nationalistic designation, if that will smooth things over. The butterfly girls do have ridges that could be interpreted as Vulcanoid, though...
There was going to be a line in Enterprise which identified them as such however it got cut before filming began.
I'd be willing to break it down into the following;
Turtle Rigelians
Vulcan Rigelians
Enterprise Rigelians
Butterfly Rigelians
Kaylar
The big savage Rigelians from the original pilot (as mentioned by Pike)
Miners from Mudd's women
Orions of course.
*returns from reading Worlds* sits in a corner rocking back and forth gibbering
And that's one of the better reconciliations of all things Rigelian in Star Trek that I've seen in recent memory. See why I fetched the popcorn?
salted or sweet? still I'm amazed by the madness surrounding the whole thing gah!!
For something like this? Absolutely salt and butter for something like this....
:)
I did a write-up using the worlds stuff and some info form various novels (and some help form Memory Beta). I sent it to Mr. Goodman, who probably has butter-stains on it now from all that popcorn !
Um... Butterfly Girls ? Ok, I'll admit to missing a fair share of ENT eps since the scheduling was erratic at best in my neck of the woods. I could easily add them into my piece. Could someone point me to a bit of info and possibly a pic ?
The ones I got in there:
Turteloids (Chelon / Chelarians)
Kaylar
Vulcanoids v 1 (the basic Vulcanoids from Worlds - I called them V'gelnians in my write-up, borrowing from FASA)
Vulcanoids v 2 (with eyes spaced farther apart on their heads, from the novel The Best and the Brightest)
Silver-skinned Rigellians from Rigel IV (from the Stargazer novel, Oblivion)
Rigellian furries (aka Botas - ratlike Rigellian merchants from the TOS novel The Final Reflection)

For my part, I will be eventually posting some info on my take on them. Along with a tonne of other unnamed alien species.
They were also in the novel Starfleet: Year OneQuote:

I did a "Bare Bones" write up on them and a pic using Hero Machine ...if you are interested Fugazi Grrl.
Thakowsaizmu, I know who you're talking about now. I found them on MA, too, un the Unnamed Aliens section for the 22nd Century.
But... are we sure they're natives of Rigel, or the Rigel system, or just exotic dancers "imported" into the system.
I think it was Somaticon that mentioned the Butterfly girls, I was just providing the info on them. Still don't know if I like them or not. Ah well.
Anyway, who knows where they're from or if they're Rigellian/Rigelian? Obviously no one thought to make sure that the term wasn't already being used for a hundred other races. But then, Star Trek is nothing if not inconsistent.
Fugazi Girl
Here you go.
Rigelians (Silver)
Species Adjustments: +1 Intellect, -1 Presense
Species Abilities:
-Night Vision
-Ultraviolet Resistance (see Orions Narrator's Guide p.193)
Rigelians (Silver) are a humanoid species native to Rigel IV. They have silvery skin,
three-fingered, hands, red eyes and a flared brow (similar to a triceratop's head shield) and an elaborate maze of tiny ridges that runs down from their temples to the jaw. Most Rigelians (Silver) preferred the company of their own kind and interact little with other cultures (ST Novel Starfleet: Year One)
Attachment 1219
Note: I had to account for the silver skin..the only way I could account for it is due to high ultraviolet radiation. The eyes the only logical(excuse the pun) is for them to have some sort of night vision...This is as far as I was able to reason..
I love that pic. Very alien looking - mine was a bit more human, going for a more "Vulcanoid" look.
These are the stats I came up with:
Species Adjustments: +2 Intellect, -3 Presence, +1Perception
ABILITIES
Enhanced Rapid Healing: The natives of Rigel IV have this ability as per Vulcans (see p. 164 of Aliens, or p. 49 of the Player's Guide for more information).
Bonus Edge (Keen Hearing): They also possess this edge as a species ability (see p. 164 of Aliens, or p. 49 of the Player's Guide).
Ultraviolet Resistance: These silver-skinned Rigelians have the same resistance to ultraviolet radiation as Orions, and most species originating in the Rigel system (see Aliens, p. 121).
Proud (species flaw): The natives of Rigel IV have this flaw as a species trait due to their anti-social nature and the heir of superiority with which they carry themselves. (see p. 142 of the Player's Guide).
@Fugazi Girl
You know you could combine the two (your Species Adjustments and Species Abilities) with my suggestion of Night Vision. And I think you and I would have what is described in both Oblivion and Year One. Drop the keen hearing since captain Cobaryn in Starfleet Year One had ear holes
Yes! Very interested.
Here it is.
My original goal was to incorporate the Rigellian info from Worlds into a different file. And then I got working on other species of Rigellians that I found on Memory Beta and/or remembered from various novels.
The only one I don't think you'll be able to find on MB is the Vulcanoids with the wider eye-placement. They're mentioned in the novel The Best and the Brightest.
