Deck 2 - Officers' Quarters
Deck 5 - Labs
Very, very nice work.
Very nice, Dan.
Looks very good.
Cabn't wait to see the rest

Looks great! I like the scale - both of the ship and of the images. Here we have a craft that is, for it's time, a front-runner. The type of ship that pushes the envelope, explores new worlds, etc... the type of ship I like to put my PCs on. But the cool thing is it's small at the same time - scaled so it will be easy for PCs to know their ship quickly.
The scale of the images is nice in that unlike some otherwise extremely nice deck plans, those will be easy to print out without losing image quality. When I find deck plans on the web, I often can't print from the browser, I have to save the image, open it in a graphics program, resize the image (losing image quality and often making labeling text unreadable), and relabel everything so that it's readable.
I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the end results!
Thanks for the kind words all.
Just a caveat - I'm just a software engineer, without much of a drafting background. As a result, I made certain compromises - outer hull is zero thickness, didn't bother lining up windows, etc. (I prefer to view all the windows on Daedauls pictures as sensor devices... :D) The main goal was to make a set of plans useful for gaming so I didn't shoot for the quality of the Franz Joseph Constitution-class plans.
I tried my luck at a set of Defiant plans a while back, gave up, and switched to something which nothing canon is known about. The premiere of "Enterprise" caused me to change the plans a little bit - add a single transporter for example, some primitive fabrication machinery, etc. In any case, doing a full set of plans has really gotten me rather familiar with Campaign Cartographer 2. With a circular hull, one gets very good at rotated copies, and I developed my own style of purple lines on a temp layer which I used for trimming, reference points, etc. Quite an educational experience. I tried adding the NX-01 bridge to the top - it was able to fit, but the turbolift being off-center made it impractical - I'd have to make a mess out of Deck 2 in order to accomodate that.
That said, the main issue of making them available is some cleanup - getting rid of the CC2 background (for example, I suspect seeing "ProFantasy Dungeon Designer" at the bottom or medieval symbols will add to the mood. :D ALso, I have to make certain all the JPEG files I export are all the same size. If my daughter waits until her due date to be born, then I'll probably finish this cleanup this weekend. Otherwise.... How's 2021 look on everyone's schedule? :D
Good work Dan

Good work, and good luck, by the sounds of it!
For both the family and the 'special projects'... ;)
Very, very nice plans. And good luck with the baby.
Good stuff Dan. Look forward to seeing the finished product.
And good luck for your impending fatherhood :D
We've been explaining to baby that May 16th would be a bad day to be born. How much better it would be to allow mommy and daddy one last Star Wars movie prior to their becoming parents... ;) Estimated due date, May 28th...
Very nice! I too await the next installment...
I'm glad to see there's more than a couple of us CC2-ers on the boards... Anomaly's another one! (Of course I got a head start, since I work for the company :D)
Are you planning on posting the CC2 maps at any point? Or just the bitmap versions? I'm always hunting for more sci-fi symbols...
Well labour can last for hours, so if the worst happens, just ask your other half to pop some paracetamol and hold it in for a couple hours :DQuote:

OK, so real glad I'm not within slapping disatance of her :)
I'll probably be posting the CC2 files as well, depending on available webspace. This way if someone more talented than myself wants to improve them, they can, and I'll be able to enjoy their work. :D
I don't think I needed to add any new symbols - I discovered that the sci-fi ship symbols available at www.profantasy.com, while not quite right for TOS or TNG Trek, looked pretty neat for a 22nd century ship. The only one I wish I had made into a symbol was the turbolift.
There are better horizons for Sci-Fi CC2 users in the future. Perhaps Imagus can tell more?
Given that I'm a poster here in my private identity (even if I do do it on company time), I try to avoid advertising our software...
However, once we make a public announcement about this particular issue, I might break my rule if Don doesn't object! ;)
Good work! Keep it up. Looking forward to the rest.
Combined with the Enterprise information in the Limited Edition, your plans are making me want to run a prequel game. Keep up the good work.
I've uploaded the deckplans to my homepage (accessible via my sig). A few caveats...
- This is still not quite complete - consider it a version 0.9.
- The deckplans are stored as a zipped CC2 file - when I complete them I'll polish them up as image files. Profantasy has a free CC2 viewer program for those without CC2. Just go to their homepage and look in their downloads section.
- The plans are a little rough still without much in the way of descriptions. Top left of the sphere is deck one, to the right of that is deck 2, to the right of that is deck 3. The 2nd row begins with deck 4.
Real nice, I like how the engineering section is actually almost all engineering. Interesting choice in using the middle deck in the sphere for machinery instead of crew sapce like FJ did. Are you going to put inertial dampeners into the thing as well?
Dan
These are great . I love the way you've added drop bays for the shuttles to reflect "Enterprise".
I'll enjoy looking over the plans properly later.
Nice work
Long Tom
Very nice. I like the dropbays, as well. Gives a good Enterprise feel.
