will the Limited Edition have the typos fixed and the errata?
As I undertsnad it, the pages for the Limited Edition were printed at the exact same time as those for the first run of the PLayer's Guide. I could be wrong, though. :)
oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhh .,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hmm, well I want a copy of the LE anyway, since I was planning to buy two copies of both the PG and NG (always useful to have two, especially during character creation). But it's a shame if it isn't updated to correct the errors.
Ah well.
It's pretty standard practice to take this approach for limited editions, because LE's are never printed in large enough quantities to justify a separate print run (unless, I suspect, you're White Wolf!).
From personal experience, when Hogshead produced Realms of Sorcery, they had the pages for all the copies printed and blocked in the main print run, then diverted a hundred or so of the blocks (that's all the pages bound together without covers) before the rest were bound. The uncovered blocks then went to a separate professional bookbinder for covering in leather :) That took several months as it was all done more or less by hand.
I suspect the same applies to the Trek LE, not that I'm saying that it will be in leather! :p
Don't quote me, but I think it will be something fancy, like leather, and in a slipcase to hold all three books.
Yes, there's an additional third book as well, full color, that will be in the LE. At this time this book, to my knowledge, will only be available in the LE. Perhaps Doug can dig up some more specific information. :)
:D :D
etc
whats the THIRD book?!
"101 Ways to fry a tribble"
"Songs your mooogee never taught you"
"My favorite bathtime gurgles"
"The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy"
"I would rather kiss a wookie!"
'They're all dead dave"
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????
:D :D
etc
whats the THIRD book?!
"101 Ways to fry a tribble"
"Songs your mooogee never taught you"
"Spying or how to appear like a tailor without being one"
"The pail of life or how I lived among solids"
"Baldness, a sign of weakness or the ultimate aphrodesicac?"
"Trekkers, are they nutty lifeforms or do they have good taste?"
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????
Ahem! :)
Personally, I'm hoping for an art/photo type book... Perhaps with some kind of general background info. As I've commented before, if anything essential to the game goes in something limited, some fans get left out...
Ok, I guess I'm gonna have to get it then!
So Don, Doug, Ross - any of you guys planning to be at Origins or GenCon so I can get it signed? :D
If I were a game designer I'd make the 3rd book either an adventure or a fully fleshed out setting with adventure ideas, like the chapter LUG devoted to each rulebook with ship/crew/setting descriptions and a short adventure - just longer with NPCs, longer planetary descriptions and the like. Something that gets you playing real fast if you don't want to (or don't have the time to) develop a setting yourself.
Ditto! I want the second copy so I can eventually get it autographed when I take it to cons to play. I have my working copy that I am already highlighting to hades and back. Oooppsss! Then I will have the good one to share with friends that can have multiple autographs throughout it. The designers really have a great selection of photographs through out the book. Both the LUG and CODA editions were well thought out and put together, whether or not we are fond of particular changes. :-)Quote:

Well, I just received confirmation from TPTB about the third book of the LE, so I thought I'd share the subject with you.Quote:

The 32-page insert that will come with the LE is a sourcebook for Enterprise! :)
Now that's a surprise! I hope that the LE (btw, isn't that Lawfull Evil? Seems I found another CODA/d20 similarity :D) isn't so limited that the american market gets all the copies and we europeans never see it. :(Quote:

Damn I'm soooo dooomed!
I'd be happy with that!Quote:

Calcoran, I'm sure that info will become available somewhere else fairly soon. Either in an Enterprise sourcebook (presumably expanded and revised) or as a download before too long (I hope!).
Cool that you were given the go ahead to tell.Quote:

BUt without the errata in and an Enterprise insert, I think I will give this one a pass.
Enterprise just ain't my cup of tea.
Oh, damn. And there I was thinking I wouldn't need to buy the limited edition, and could save a little money.... *le sigh*Quote:

Considering how Enterprise is the series that restored my faith in Star Trek after all these years, I'm kind of personally obliged to get this just so I can give my plan of running an NX-era campaign a spin.
Thanks for the heads-up, Doug. I'm actually looking forward to this now....
Enterprise! Cool. I was thinking of getting the LE anyway, for the second copy reason mentioned before, but now that I know it's going to have Enterprise stuff in it.... It Must Be Mine!! :)
So will the Limited Edition be available via the Decipher Store? This morning the players guide wasn't even available there!
Thought so. So, any info on what might be in it? Species writeups? NX-01 stats? An adventure?Quote:

Will they also be offering the insert as a seperate item (for those of us already invested in the PG and NG?
Dan & DW: No word on if the insert will be avilable separately yet. I know it is an option they are considering, but no decision has been reached.
C. Huth: Species write-ups (including the Nausicaans and the Suliban), Ship stats (including the NX-class ship), tech info (including phase pistols and such-like), and probably a whole lot of other crunchy niftiness. :)
kewl :D and hmm...
What's the expected price for the Limited Edition and will it be available at Origins?
I'd be one of those 'please release it seperately' voices. I'm interested in the Enterprise era of play, but having bought the PG already I'm not going to buy the Ltd Ed.Quote:

I have to say at this point that unless the extra book is going to be available seperately then I am unlikely to Purchase the Narrators guide in favour of waiting for the LE.
The stuff in the book sounds like it could come in useful, and while I have no problem with Multiple copies of a Players guide, I doubt I am going to need multiple Narrators guides around... Especially at £20 a pop.
I will watch this thread intently as I had been relying on the NG before I even considered porting any ICON stuff over to CODA...
Okay, now I'm really getting confused. I keep hearing about this Limited Edition, but I can't find anyone who can preorder it for me. Not my friendly neighborhood gaming store, not my online supplier, no links via the decipher site that I can see, nada. eep.
If i'm going to buy into Decipher Trek it sounds like the LE version is what I want, the Enterprise material is an added plus (and really should be offered as a pdf download, via purchase or free, for those loyal early buyers who couldn't wait like some of us...). My problem is simple -- how do I go about pre-ordering something I can't find a listing for -- hint, hint......thanks!
PS -- and how much will it cost, in American dollars?....
I would also like to get my grubby paws on it. but if i have to buy the LE to get the enterprise suppliment, well, I can do without it. Since I already have the PG, and will be getting the NG soon. I do not need another copy of either.
Here here! I'm considering an Enterprise era campaign, and if they release the supplement, I'll pick it up, if not I'll "roll my own". Either way I'm not buying an Ltd.Quote:

While no great surprise, this is certianly good news. Thank you.Quote:

Though I was gonna buy it anyway, just 'cause I like to have duplicate rulebooks. Certainly the Enterprise sourcebook is a nice enticement though.
Early grumblings that I've heard are that the ENT sourcebook won't be available outside the LE. The material will be worked into future supplements, however. For example, the Suliban in the Aliens Book, the NX-class in the Starships Book, etc.
With that said don't take my information too close to heart--consider Doug to have the official news so until he says otherwise, consider it a possibility to see the sourcebook separately.
I'll post a more detailed listing of contents shortly.
Let's see if I can fit the LE into my current budget...
-grad year of college
-new computer
-apartment/room
I keep thinking that this LE idea will end up becoming the CODA Trek equivalent of the Decipher Trek CCG Fajo Collection. I guess I'm going to wait to decide on buying the LE until I hear a price...
Any rumblings as to how one will obtain the Limited Edition? My FLGS can't seem to get me a price quote for it... (I'm still looking for my copy of the Dune RPG as well...)
I really hate to jump in on nothing but a spelling issue (especially as I'm not that great of a speller myself), but I see this mistake so often and for some reason I can't explain it drives me nuts.Quote:

Once and for all, people, it is "Hear, Hear," not 'Here, Here." You want people to listen to what is being said, not sit in your lap. Or if you do, I think you're in the wrong forum.:p

(I guess this would be considered an ad homonym attack? :D )
Thanks for the FYI, but you are assuming a bit about my motives... ;)

I was wondering what the estimated cost of this Limited Edition. I haven’t found any sites that listed list a price for it and was wondering how much more or less it will be than buying both the Player and Narrators Guides. Also will the Limited Edition be as available as the Players and Narrators Guides. The town I live in only has one store and no one has bought either of the Players and Narrators Guide so I doubt they would order a Limited Edition. If this has been answered please point me in the right direction.
Th estimated price for the Limited Edition is around $100 US. Available should be comparable to the PG & NG.Quote:

$100
Hmm, that's more expensive than I thought. I wanted extra copies of the PG and NG, and the entra books certainly sounds good. But this is quite a bit more than the combined cost of the original 2 books. Well, guess I'll see how my money holds out.
...$100...
(checks wallet)
Nope, outta my league
same here.. WAY out fo my league
