So... the starship book will have 35 ships (excluding shuttlecraft); - IIRC it has been said that the ships found in the NG will be featured; so that gives us 25 new ships-

anyone care to suggest a few that might/should/you wished would be included?

I would also expect 1-2 new designs from TOS. Also, perhaps, the DY-500.

It's been sometime since I wrote the book (and I'm too lazy to grab the outline :) ) but most of those are correct.

No Steamrunner, Saber, or Norway--those are all in the Starfleet Operations book. Also, no "Nemesis" ships; movie was in post-production/filming during writing of the book.

Between "Starfleet Operations" and "Starships" just about every Federation ship ever seen gets written up.

Yes, the DY-500 is also done. :)

I'm a big fan of the TOS stuff, and the old Star Fleet Technical Manual has been showcasing those designs for years now.
Hell the Larson/Hermes even appear on a monitor screen on the Reliant in ST:TWOK so I'd hope someone puts them in...

I am of course am under the opinion that we need a very complete TOS Stand-Alone Sourcebook.

Doug confirmed that there would be a Borg Cube over on the official boards.....

For those of you yunguns who never watched much TOS, the DY-500 was a cargo/transport ship that was an old design still in use in the 2260s. It was strongly based on the DY-100 model, built in the late 20th Century. One such DY-100 was a sleeper ship that carried the Eugenic supermen, led by Khan Noonien Singh.

The only appearance of the DY-500 (IIRC) was "The Ultimate Computer." The USS Woden destroyed by the M-5 controlled Enterprise was of that class.

The ship that Khan's people used was a DY-100, the predecessor to the DY-500 class. I think they mentioned the 500 in the episode (as a reference to the 100 that appeared on screen).

Of course, Roddenberry and Co. used the same model for both the 100 in "Space Seed" and the 500 in "The Ultimate Computer." So, Earth/Starfleet had been using this style of vessel for some 250+ years as of the mid-2260s.
