The T'Planek Class was a long-range Scout Ship fielded by the Vulcan Science Academy, and sent out a few hundred light-years, sometimes sharing data with Starfleet or Centauran Cruisers, Scouts and Stations, and while they were sometimes useful as secondary defense ships in the Four Years War, they were clearly meant to be Survey Ships. Around 30 were built at a rate of 4 per year from 2246 to 2251, and the last five were retired in 2320.
