New ship I'd like some help with (any system)
I absolutely suck at statting ships. I always get confused and messed up. I can come up with a design theory, role, etc but the number crunching is just a nightmare. I found this image online (credits on image) and came up with a general idea of what type of ship I thought it was:
Attachment 1877
Here's what I came up with as far as what I could do:
Quote:
The Rigel-class starship is both an uninspiring and absolutely indispensable part of Starfleet.* Sometimes known (semi-jokingly) as the "Adequate class", it is neither the fastest, most reliable, nor the most powerfully armed.* There is no field of specialization in which the Rigel excels.*
By the same token, there is no field in which the class is considered particularly deficient.* It is sturdy and easy to maintain.* It has a respectable top speed of Warp 8, and can sufficiently defend itself against threats.* Like nearly all Federation starships, it has laboratory space on-board permitting it to undertake research and exploration missions.* In short, it can turn its hand to whatever purpose is required and get the job done, if not as well as a ship designed for that specific purpose.
Given that, and also it's modest size and crew requirements, Starfleet has been able to construct and field more than 250 of these ships, using them primarily for general patrol and survey duties.* They are considered a good "beginner" ship for newly minted Command officers and post-Academy Midshipmen.* They are also popular "last tours" for older officers who did not seek or did not receive starbase or groundside assignments prior to their retirement.

Anyone want to take a shot at her is welcome to do so. And yes, I know there is a Rigel class in at least one of the ICON or Decipher books. I'm not overly fond of what I saw.

This is fairly good. And fits the size like spandex.

>>>I posted one over in CODA you might like. Owen didn't for some reason, but you might.
Yeah, he can be rather snippy, I do NOT get why he hassles the other guys, in my mind he sounds like a nasally cartoony guy who never gets along. He really should appreciate what you, cut, tobian, ufc and the rest have done, regardless of the size of our passions, we can make more designs with handsome intricacies, and cooperate.
I didn't even really have any liking or drive with CODA after a while, but I sometimes did some ships in CODA in later monthes, out of detached interest, and to assist those who might lean towards that one system.
