I think you are wrong - If you will look at rpg.net forums, at some of the "why RPG's so expansive?" you will see some sample cost break-downs that show that printing, while expansive, is less costly...

Actually, the deadline is the 31/3 in my eyes.
The end of the year is too much. I fully expect some kind of a statement by 31/3. No statement by that date is the equal of a "line is dead" statement...

actually from the posts around here and rpg.net I think the LotR RPG makes money.
But not as much as decipher wanted - they wanted to go toe to toe with D&D. Given the luckluster support they gave...

My Personal Guess/estimate -
They will announce soon that the release schedule for Q2 is:
April: Worlds
June: Helm's Deep
(or vice versa)

And that the release schedule for the rest of the year...
