  1. Re: Re: USS Vengence?

There was probably a historical British warship called "We don't like the Germans", but that wouldn't make it Star Trek.

How is "standing up to someone" almost as bad as "finding the people that...

    No they're not

I looked. The only core mechanic suggestion is interpreting a one on the drama die as something bad happening- a very non- Star Trek occurance. Unless I missed something. Did I?

Thanks, Don. But there's a good chance we'll have ended the campaign by the time the Decipher game comes out, and I'll feel like a change from GMing Star Trek :).
  4. USS Vengence?

Marcus's sig mentions that he (presumably his PC) was on the USS Vengence?

Is this the same word as "Vengeance", or a proper noun?

If so, isn't that ... not terribly Star Trek?

    Replacing the Icon Core Mechanic

I do not like the Icon core mechanic. The problems I have with it are:

    1. It assumes that the attributes provide reliability, and the skills provide ability. This is not always the case. For...
  6. Re: Teaching... in TNG Player's Guide

Thanks. I missed it ... I dip into, rather than exhaustively read, that book.

I'm still interested to hear comments on my musings on the need to be trained by someone with Instruction skill.
  7. Re: Yes, but... the use is all downtime?

Yes, but even in downtime the character still needs the skills to do whatever they are doing. And, even in downtime, they also need to have the practical resources to learn the skill. Fairly often,...

House Rule to even out the Probability Distribution

I agree. Particularly as characters have a decent chance of a 5 or a 6 normally, PCs tend to be on either Good form or Legendary form - they rarely fall between the two.

    My house rule is to...
  9. Icon rules for Training - pleae comment

Someone in my game wants training skill. So I'm fuding up some rules for it :).

I want to use common sense to fudge how far people can go with their training without a trainer, or without a...

IMSTU, the Romulans have genetically engineered the psi-active organelles from Enterobactus Psionsis, the psi-bacteria from New Lhasa, to create their own powerful Psis. But this bacterium is at the...

So, the Gorn take Cestus III, and hold it until Picard somehow uses diplomacy and guile to resolve the crisis. How long for?

If the Dominion were secretly backing the Black Crest, unknown to the...
  13. Gorn Crisis [Spoilers: Gorn Crisis Comic]

    Hi,

I'm running an RPG, and my PCs are currently on Cestus III. I was about to
have a coup in Gorn space anyway. Apparently, in the "Gorn Crisis" graphic novel, Ent-E is running around doing...
