If you take a look at history of American pre-WW2 cruisers they suffered greatly at the hands of the Japanese Navy in the later part of 1942.

Sometimes you have to rest the crews otherwise they're not going to be as effective in combat and that's a big tactical no-no.

I liked the original refit of Enterprise as well.

My contention is the Promethius -class ships really are'nt designed so much for flag operations as they are for out and out battle-- along the lines of most of your typical escort-destroyer class...
