    Incredibly Geeky Shiplist Project

Henceforth to be known as the IGSP

(Hope posting it here is the right thing)

    Okay, here's what I'm doing.

    Given that:

    A. I own almost every Star Trek book ever written.
    B. I'm a hopeless ship geek.
    C. I read very fast
    D. I have a little spare time on my hands,

I decided to re-read every bit of Star Trek literature I own, to pluck out information for fellow ship geeks.

    This information would consist of:

    BOOK TITLE
    Ship Name
    Nationality, if other than Federation/Starfleet
    Registry, if mentioned.
    Class, if mentioned.
Type, if mentioned. -- (Freighter, fighter, transport, cruiser, etc.)
    Captain/s, if mentioned.
Fate, if known. -- (destroyed, damaged, or blank if no fate given by the end of the book.)

Naturally, there will be several lists, for series of books and miniseries. (TOS, TNG, DS9, NF, SCE, Stargazer, Gorkon, Captain's Table, Gateways, Section 31, etc etc.)

I also plan on going through all the RPG's and supplements I own, from FASA's SRM's on up.

I started this a long time ago, and am around the 3/4 finished mark with the "Pocket" books I own.

What I'd like to ask is if...

Anybody wants to check my work once I'm done?
Anybody who has the computer games (I don't have any) or knows about their shiplist can contribute such a list?
Anybody interested in receiving all or part of this project when it's completed?

(Actually, it'll never be completed as long as books keep coming out, but you know what I mean. And of course I'll be adding/posting updates after the main list is done, as long as anyone wants them.)

I could help. I have several of the games and also the newest three Star Trek books, the first of the "A Time for..." books and already have a partial mental ship list for them. This is something that I have been contemplating to do for a while. If you e-mail me what you have so far, I'll look over it and post any corrections. My e-mail address is excalibur12003@aol.com.

The best individual defensive tactic is a hard and fast offensive, regardless of the odds.

I'd find this useful as well, my players are minor ST fans, but i like to throw in things that are 'canon' if possible.

I'd like to see it once it's done. Cheers

    I'd like a copy.

I can help check TOS, TNG, DS9, and some books, if you can give me a couple of days notice. If you've got a specific book title, I can tell you if it's in my collection, but my collection is far from complete. Just let me know via PM what you need done, and I'll let you know if I can help.

    Thanks, guys.

Right now I'm pretty much done with the Big Series, and am working on finishing the miniseries.

So far I have three documents, TOS, TNG, and DS9, and the fourth will be MISC and cover all the miniseries books I have, including cross-series like Gateways and Lost Era. Then there will be a fifth with RPG ships.

I have no plans to do Voyager or Enterprise, outside of their books in the crossover miniseries, as I don't have all those books, nor am I really all that interested, since my game isn't going to the Delta Quadrant or the ENT era anytime soon.

When finished, the lists will be Word Perfect 10 documents. I don't know how to convert them to anything else, so I hope y'all have computers that can read that format.

OR, I could post the lists here, but they're gonna be very long.

Oh, I should also mention that I am NOT planning on copying ships from the conventional "Official" resource books, IE the Star Trek Encyclopedia, the official TNG/DS9 Tech Manuals, the Concordances, Compendiums, Companions, and/or Episode guides.

TOS list is nearly finished. I should be able to send/post it over the Easter holiday. TNG list is 90% done.

Make sure your email is in your profile (or posted here) if you want copies of the list.

There's a good chance I'll be posting it on my website, eventually, but not just yet.

Due to unforseen circumstances which required my intensive and personal attention this weekend, there will be a brief delay in transmission of the IGSP, because I wasn't able to finish it.

I apologize for the delay, but as Tomalak once said, "matters of greater urgency caused our absence." And as Londo Mollari once said, "blood cries out for blood."

Okay, IF (big if) I did it right, most of you should be getting an email with the file attatched about now.

Sundowner, I'll need your email if you want a copy.

Let me know if I missed you! This is the first time I've tried multiple-address mailing (I don't have that many friends)

Can't open it as it is Word Perfect, any chance you could save it in Word format?

    Let me see...

Aslan, another doc should hopefully be on the way in a moment.

Everybody else, make sure your list ends with the ships from the "Errand of Vengeance" trilogy. I just might have sent the wrong edition of my list by mistake.
