Special thanks to Styro "Dark Lord Of Technobabble" and Hoss "Provider Of Details." All I did was edit them and correct the worst of teh grammor adn spelin erors.
Folks dont y'all love this badass technobabble?

People, if you love big guns mounted on floating fortresses of death, these are THE GAMES for you. In both of the Naval Ops game (Warship Gunner and Commander, the sequel) you get to build your own highly detailed ships with weapons, hulls, bridges, engines, aircraft and auxilary systems; these ships are based on ships from any of four nations: Japan, USA, Britian or Germany; then you take your customized floating death machine out on the high seas to blow up ships, shore installations, aircraft and subs.

Commander has several refinements on the original game Warship Gunner, like new ship systems, more missions (80!) and escort ships for your flagship. It incorporates several noticable upgrades to the system and is a blast to play.

For more information on Naval Ops: Commander, you can go to
the official web site for the game. The site has screenshots, basic info on the game and WALLPAPERS! So what are you waiting for? GET THIS GAME NOW!

Oh and if you are wondering: yes, WAVE GUNS ARE THAT POWERFUL. I used them myself in Warship Gunner...really helps during channel defense missions.

Such battles usually go like this:

Enemy fleet: HAH! You think your puny little ship can stop all of us. PREPARE TO DIE!

    Hoss: Fire Wave Gun! >FWWWWWWOOOOOSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!<

Enemy fleet: What the...? OHMIAAAYYYYYYYYYYYIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!! >Fleet vaporized<

Hoss: >Collects Crates left by destroyed ships< Next.

I'm still in section B (mission 10 is next for me ) of Naval Ops Commander. I love the shipbuilding section...just too many toys to play with.

Right now, my best ship (a Carrier B hull) has a 93/100 rating. Not too bad for not having any of my tech over 8.

Whohoo! A fellow fan! BTW which country are you using? Japan, USA, Britian or Germany?

93 huh? I can say my Carrier (a Carrier V) the RNS Lightning scored a 99. Not too shabby.

You think the toys are cool now, just wait till you get the higher tech levels...then they get really nice. Hehe...

Right now, I just started the F-Level missions and my tech levels are around 27-28. These F missions look really great...no escort missions, just stuff to blow up.

BTW if you need help on any missions or have a question, just ask Styro, Liz or I and we'll help you out.

Excellent. And thanks. I really can't stand escort missions; they just bug the hell out of me. I'm much better at search and destroy.

I decided to start easy, with the Japanese equipment. I'm starting to run out of non-name Japanese words to use for the ship names. Once I finish the game with the Japanese, I'll move to the next hardest (Americans, I think). This will keep me entertained for months and months.

You're not the only one....gad those things are a PAIN!....and the worst part is in many of these missions, once you successfully carry it out, they end the stage denying you the pleasure of blowing your tormenters to fish food.

Well, in terms of difficulty, there's really not too much difference between the various nations. The "difficulty" rating refers mostly to the relative merits of the "stock" ships in the game. I chose the US because of the fact that they have excellent aircraft, making my future battlecarriers more effective. Of course, once you get your hands on a "stock" design, you'll usually proceed to customize the ship, making it MUCH more effective.

BTW a few hints and tips:

Replay non-escort missions for extra cash when needed; the game encourages it and the extra cash comes in handy for getting the cool tech. Also good for when you want the money to build your super-duper Killer Battleship from Hell™
When you get energy weapons, SELL THEM...my experience has shown these guns to be generally useless once the enemy gets EM shielding...also these weapons tend to be relatively heavy.
Chainguns and other special machine guns are really useful....these guns are excellent at both killing air and surface targets.
Rockets are another useful weapon...they not only give your ship a good short range punch early in the game but they are excellent at shore bombardament.
Later on you might get lucky and score a Railgun or two as an item drop...KEEP them..railguns are EXCELLENT weapons for ship combat...high damage and generally immmune to all shielding.
We have all your working biros and we're not afraid to use them.

Leave a box of used postit notes and a box of paperclips inside the filling cabinet and things won't get nasty.

Oh really? Trust me, when you facing off against Druna Skass (AKA the Supership from hell), you need every edge you can get; I've seen Druna Skass laugh off Wave Gun shots. ALso keep in mind she carries a Wave Gun too. One good shot and your ship is nothing but a sizziling mass of wreckage.
