Sirtis (Troi) says no more TNG films

    FYI,

Star Trek: The Next Generation cast member Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) told fans at Boston's United Fan Convention that there won't be another Next Gen movie, IGN FilmForce reported. "It's over. There's not going to be another one," Sirtis said.

She's not saying anything Patrick Stewart hasn't said already, so there's little danger of her being wrong -- Stewart is more essential to those films than she is.

I just checked her resume over at IMDB; she's not so loaded with recent success that she'd turn down a nice payday if one were offered, methinks!

    Cool

Yes, especially when the paycheck is accompanied by jeers from the public ... kinda like tax auditors, bill collectors, repo specialists, etc.

Of course, if she's smart, she should get royalties from the sales of TNG DVD/VHS video.

Then again, she could play her recurring character on SG-1. Or guest star on Law & Order. Or that new law drama TV series in which will star James Spader and William Shatner next season, when The Practice end its run.
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

Hasn't her character been removed from the picture anyway?

Her character got married to Riker. I don't see her removed completely, unless Riker is gone too.

Don't the cast members say stuff like this after each movie? After First Contact, Stewart was saying how he didn't see any more stories to be told about Picard and that any further movies should deal with Riker stepping up to command. And Dorn has always hated the make-up.

While moeny is always a good motivator, they also eventually return because they genuinely enjoy it. Crappy as Nemesis was, Stewart had fun doing it.

Riker is on the Titan with Troi, ergo gone.

Unless any new movie is built around the USS Titan.

    Arrow

Hikaru Sulu and Janice Rand are on Excelsior, but not gone since they made their appearance in Nicholas Meyer's Star Trek VI.

Actually, Hikaru was in ST V. Rand shouldn't count, since she's a minor character, at best.
