Couldn't see much, due to the black-on-black of the picture. As long as it is one of Batman's specialty vehicles, and not a substitute for the Batmobile then I like it. It is just too big for city use.

I dunno, it just doesn't look right to me. I don't hate it, but it doesn't say Batman to me.

I dunno, guys. Kinda reminds me of the bat-tank from "Dark Knight Returns"...

I'll have to take your word for it, it's been years since I read Dark Knight Retruns.

Yep. That's definitely inspired by Return of the Dark Knight. Hopefully it won't be the only Batmobile. If it's intended for a heavy weapons response type thing, then that'll be cool.

The Batmobile has undergone a large number of changes through Batman's life as a character. Early versions were little more than souped up sedans of that era. It's only relatively recently that he's gone for the gadget heavy look.

This thing might or might not be based on a Hummer; we'll have to see. But it should represent an earlier version of the character's vehicle, with fewer gimmicks. While I understand that movies can't follow comic book canon, if you're talking about Batman's early years, then the movie should take place at some undefined point in the past. Which would tend to eliminate the Hummer as a base platform.

Heh. Probably following the current social trend ... now that SUV is the current status symbol of automobile among the middle-class.

But I can't helped but expect we'll have the Dark Knight sporting a mullet. I mean for a SUV, those are damn big wheels, the kind you find on a "mini" monster truck.

I dunno 'bout that... 38 years isn't really that recent, especially since the character is only 65 year old - that's over half the life of the character (58%). Actually, Batman's used gadgets since the 1940's but it became a core part of the charatre with the original 1966 Batman TV series.

    Thumbs down

Ok, so big knobby tires and no ground clearance? WTF? What's the point? My 2WD Rodeo would do better off-road than this thing.

    Cool

And I bet your mullet is bigger than Batman's.

Honestly, is Gotham City set out in the boonies? I'm trying to find plausible reasons for such a vehicle, that is no way suitable for urban use.

Yeah, like Hollywood thinks of things like this. Just look at the APC in Aliens, it had zero ground clearance, and when it did go off road it snapped an axle.

My thinking, there will be a rural setting somewhere in the movie.
