Nice surprise from Japan (ST starship models)

A Japanese girl I know is visiting here and she brought us back a few items from over there. Among those items were 2 ST starships, the USS Prometheus and a Ferengi Marauder. They are about 4 inches long each. They are part of a collection of about a dozen ships, such as the TOS Ent, the Ent-D, the Nebula, etc. Both models are extremely well-made and very well detailed and painted. The only catch is that they come in nondescript boxes and you never now which ship you'll get. For instance if you buy 5 boxes you may end up with 2 Ent-D, 2 Marauders and a JH Attack Ship.

They are available through HLJ : http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?FRT20561

    Question

Do they take check or money order payment?
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

They are pretty cool, keep in mind though there is no assuance that you will get the ship you want, they are all randomly packed in boxes that don't label what ship is inside.

Bought one at a convention last weekend, got the origional Enterprise.

There is a guy on ebay that sells them according to type of ship, He opens the boxes just to see which ship is in the box.

Folks, this just proves what I learned a while back: the Japanese always get the coolest toys.

I dunno. I can't help but wonder why the franchise can't find the coolest toymakers to make or distribute the same kind of stuff, if Hasbro doesn't want to do them anymore?

Well, that would also explain the Baywatch's international phenomenon.

If you are interested in these minis may I suggest going over to Ebay. They’re by a company called Furuta and are quite nice.

I wonder if shops in the UK and US will stock them if they are made aware of them? I know my local Forbidden Planet store gets a lot of Japanese imports so I wonder........
