Aw. Cmon! The kitties rule! Who wouldn't like to see a platoon of Kzinti take on a squad of Jem'Hadar?

    "Victory is-- RIPSNARLROARRAIIGH!!"

Not the TAS kzin, though. They just looked pathetic, in those miscolored pink outfits and spaceships.

I mean the "known space" Kzin. The 8-foot-tall, 800-pound intelligent tigers with attitude problems and voices like Ron Perlman.

Yeah. And they're also all named "Vincent."

Uhmm, ME! And why, because cross pollenation is good in gardening, but not literature. Trek is in the Trek universe, The Man-Kzin War is in that universe, and never the twain shall meet.

Besides if they did, Trek would become a TV adaptation of the silly Wing Commander movie.

Jellicoe was a jerk. He was not a nice guy. But, I did like him, and I didn't think he was a bad CO, quite the opposite. He got the job done, just without the touchy-feely niceties. And when he had to, he swallowed his own pride to do it (ergo, going to Riker).

Peter David never got that, and continues to make Jellioce out to be a obnoxious ass, and a bad leader. Which he isn't, IMO.

As for taking Trek too seriously, there may be some truth there, but that has nothing to do with my dislike of NF. I just hate the weak writing weakly-disguised by "clever" fanboy references.

Each to their own. If you like it, more power to you. It's not to my taste though.
