    adding ship minitures

    hi

i use the coda rules and love the ship combat.

however i do own lots of starship minitures anyone have an idea how i could still use them in combat?

one thread i read suggested it was still possible to use a grid and add movement back into the game...any ideas?

either it was doug or don that mentioned in another thread on how movement with use of a grid could be added. I also recall that the same discusion mentioned that at one time Engineer maneuvers could have been in the game.

Me. The original system was hex-based with arcs of fire, movement, shield facings, etc. Yes, there were engineering maneuvers, as an example.

At some point I might pull out my notes and provide them. Sounds like a good piece of Premium Content.

It's not that big of deal guys, really. It kinda just turns the game into a Trek version of Silent Death.

When/if the opportunity comes, I'll share. I'd much rather get the ENT material up, or cobble together "Starships, Vol 2," or a starship combat/construction PDF form, release the old "To Boldly Go" material with Coda conversion, re-release the Icon to Coda document, finish penning the damn VOY sourcebook, release my big-ass Coda adventure that never quite got finished, etc.

    Lotsa cool stuff.

When I read things like that, my faith in the viability of Trek RPing is restored, Decipher's noncommitance notwithstanding. Thanks again, Don.

Could you release just some of the above mentioned items??

me personally I would be curios to know the basics of how you turned this game into silent death. What movement, shield arcs, weapon firing arcs did you purpose. Are they simple rules that could be used in conjunction with the manuevers in the NG and Starships?

I tried using minatures with movement from the manuvers (even printed out the starship cards...though I could really use killer whales stuff on cards too)

However a big ass Trek adventure would also be cool
