    Enterprise era?

    Hi.
I'm totaly new to Trek RPG (even if I'm quite experienced with Star Trek and RPG:s on their own).
Tomorrow I'm gonny buy the three books that semt intersesting to get my campaign going.

    Narrators Guide
    Players Guide
    Starfleet operations manual

However... since my friends has almost no experience of Trek I've decided to put the campaign in the Enterprise era so that their characters can be as unexperienced with "Trekking" as thay are.
The problem is that I have no idea about if the books I'm going to buy or any other books covers this era (T'Pol is on the fornt page on operations manual but that doesn't have to mean anything).
Is there any plans to release a Enterprise era sourcebook or anything like that or can you get any additional information about how to role play in this era on the internet?
Does the other books cover important info about this era that is left out in the books I'm planning to buy?

I look forwart to your answes and I hope I will enjoy being on these forums with you.

ps. Please give me good answes.. I'm a complete newbie and I've been searching the internet without very much succes.ds

I do say that the ENT era is a good era to introduce trek to non-trekkers and new fans, unfortunaletly there's minimal info. The books you mentioned above are somewhat sufficent enough to role play in the 22nd century. The Narrator's Guide mentions ENT and it was published when ENT was in its first season so the Player's Guide, which came before the NG, has no mention of ENT. It does however have stats on 22nd weapons and an ENT alien (some forehead of the week alien). They list them as "Lasers" but i refer to them as Plasma weapons that the crew or the MACOs use. I'd like to think that Lasers was lazily used by the writers of Star Trek. The Starfleet Operation Manual is a bit misleading when they had T'Pol on the cover considering T'Pol is not starfleet. Starfleet Operations Manual mentions brief info on starfleet in the 22nd century and also has a 22nd starship, Deadulus class. There is more ENT info in the Starships sourcebook where it has the NX-01, Raptor (Klingon scout ship), Shuttlepod 1, and possibly some other ship that i forgot. Some of the members (Bouncy Caitan and Sea Tyger) on this board has done writeups on the other ENT ships like the Andorian ship and the Vulcan ship and the contrevial Bird of Preys for the Romulans and Klingons. The Alien sourcebook has the Suliban data. All in all, i think its sufficient for the time being. Supposdely there was going to be an ENT sourcebook to be released two years ago but its out dated and the info has been incorporated to the sourcebooks that i mentioned above.

EDIT: There is an ENT sourcebook for the LUG system. I don't know how to convert the data to Coda but i'm sure someone in here can help.

(EDIT:: Oops. sorry Space_Cadet, we obviously posted at the same time, not ignoring your post or anything here --Andy)

Well, as far as we know:

    The Bad News

    1. There was an Enterprise supplement due to be released as part of a "Deluxe" version of the rulebook, but it never materialised.

    2. The future of the Decipher Star Trek game is uncertain at this point. No books have been released for some time and everyone is waiting for some kind of announcement from Decipher regarding the game line. Even so, there was no Enterprise sourcebook mentioned beyond the booklet I mentioned above.

    3. The Enterprise tv series itself has been performing badly ratings-wise, and so far hasn't been renewed for a new season. It might get canned. Everyone is wating for some kind of announcement...hmm..sounds familiar...

The Better, if not Good, News

    1. The Players Guide and Narrators Guide allow you to run a Star Trek game in any era, so running Enterprise isn't a problem.

    2. All the Decipher books contain material covering all Trek eras, and while Enterprise information is pretty limited, that time period is covered in the Starfleet book, the NX series vessels are statted in "Starships", and the Suliban can be found in "Aliens". (The Andorians are in the Narrator's Guide).

With regard to Enterprise era roleplaying, dunno, if a Google search has failed you, there is a fan produced sourcebook (based on the old LUG Icon rules) here:

When/if the opportunity comes, I'll share. I'd much rather get the ENT material up,...

That's because I wrote the aforementioned ENT book.

Also, I was already paid for it in full. I mention this because Decipher would obtain no further expense from its release. Hence, I am trying to discuss with the right people to release the book, albeit even in electronic form. It'll cost them nothing.

    Thumbs up

Rad. I hope it works out. Will it contain updated info or will it be the original out of date version?

From what I read somewhere, Enterprise has been renewed for a fourth season but only for 12 episodes. Wish I could remember the source for everyone. . . . .

    this is still not official...
the only thing whci is close to a real clue is that UPN 11 said that this season' finale is just a "season finale" not a "series finale"...

    re

I've been reading a lot of the stuff in the books now but even if there would be a logical thing to use the Daedalus-class ship from Starfleet operations manual does it in some way feel a bit wrong.
It feels like it's not trek if the ship does not have a saucer..
Now i wonder if it's possible to get the stats for the NX-class ship without having to buy the Starship module (which I almost won't use at all since I don't care that much about combat and the number of 22-centure vessles are very limited).
    What should I do?

Actually if you've seen the TNG episode, All Good Things, you'll notice Beverly Crusher's ship, USS Pasteur. Its design is a throwback to the 22nd Daedalus. One could also say the same for the Akira Class being a throwback to the NX-01.

Unfortunately, getting the stats for NX-01 is a voilation of copyright, but someone on this site did a write up for the refitted NX-01

One thing to keep in mind is that, with Starships, you can make more 22nd century ships. As many as you need. And that's in addition to the NX-01, Raptor (Klingon ship), and Shuttlepod already given stats.
