    Ferengi Plasma Weapons

    I'm trying to design some independant vessels, and want to stick plasma weapons on them, but I'm not sure what difference (if any) in SU I should apply for the long range bonus. Power costs seem the same, based on the Marauder in the SRM, but I'm having trouble reverse engineering the SU cost since the precise number of emitters isn't listed for whatever reason.

    I'd base it of 120 emitters and figure from there.

    One idea for weapon like this was that it interacts with the sheild . The plamas sits on the shields burning thought but causes nomarl damage to a ship hull . The ferengi would not want to blow up a ship loosing it cargo .

    Hey, I'm an idiot. I didn't notice disruptors calculated differently than phasers, and the plasma weapons are calced as disruptors. The cost is the exact same, too, which I guess means that the Ferengi have the best beam weapons in the Alpha Quadrant. Or, more likely, that the numbers on the Marauder listed are basically placeholders. I guess I'll just have to wing it.
