favorite main characters poll

My favorites from the old series were Scotty, Spock, Chekov, Bones, Sulu, Kirk, and Uhura.

My favorites from TNG were Data, Picard, LaForge, Dr Crusher, Worf, Troi, Yar, Riker, Barclay, and lastly Wesley.

I haven't really seen much of the other two series because I couldn't get where I live for a long while, but I'll try anyway.

For DS9, O'Brien, Odo, Bashir, Jhadzia, Capt Sisco, Kira, and Quark.

For Voyager, Torres, Kim, Tuvok, the Doctor, Paris, Janeway, Chacotay, and Neelix.

In general, I notice engineers and technicians come high. Maybe, that's why I'm training to be technician.

Some of the exact orders are debatable, but it tough on some of them.

The Worst:

10) Deanna Troi (I never got over the erratic "Cheerleader in space" persona she had at first--although the early outfits helped a lot. )
9) William Riker (Kirk wanna-be. Get over it wussboy! You ain't the Kirkman!)
8) Julian Bashir (Yawn... yawn... yawn... Is he off the screen yet? Only survived on the show 'cause of O'Brien, IMHO.)
7) Ezri Dax (Cute as a button, but so damn annoying!)
6) Nog (Like eggnog, he makes me go Zzzzzz......)
5) Reginald Barclay (I have no idea how this nutbar made it into Starfleet!)
4) Nurse Chapel (Majel wasn't babe enough to wear the uniform, and had about as much acting talent as a thimble.)
3) Lwaxana Troi (I'd rather listen to nails scratching along a blackboard. Sorry, but you get two picks, Majel. Your acting improved, but not by much.)
2) Wesley Crusher (Grrr... where's my hockey stick? I'll show you, you pissy little twerp!)

And the number one worst Star Trek character....

1) Take your pick from Voyager! 'Cept for the Doc and Tuvok, they all suck wind! Oh... and Kes, too. She was cool. )

10] Dr. Crusher (Oh god not a Dr. Crusher episode! Please give me a Geordie episode instead!)
09] Troi (how useless can one being truely be? Captain I sense an empty vaccuous presence. That's just you Counsellor.)
08] Paris (I'm hated by everyone in Starfleet...no wait all the ones who hated me are dead...now I am just one of the guys...Blah!)
07] Kess (I can only live until I am 9...excuse me? How did this culture learn how to walk upright, let alone develop language?)
08] Bashir (A complete lack of any substance or personality...yawn)
07] All Klingons in the 24th Century (TOS Klingons rocked, what happned to you guys? Biker-Vikings...sigh)
06] Data (I wish I was a real live boy! Or maybe Spock.)
05] Guinan (I am the all powerful Guinan! Worship my huge hats!)
04] Sisko (I am very boring and a bad actor unless I am being mean or yelling, then I am a Man Called Hawk. Commander Spencer for Hire to ops.)
03] Yeoman Rand (What is your rank and why are you on this ship?)
02] Captain Sulu (Love Lt Sulu, can't stand Captain Sulu...Give it up, he will never get his own series or movie...ever!)

All I have to say is I love (some more than others) ALL the characters in the Trek shows except:

1 Weasley Crusher (24th Century Child Genius? Give me a break.)
2 Katherine Janeway (this is what happens when bad writing and bad acting meet in a place called Voyager!)
3 Chakotay (I don't care how bad my spelling is, the character sucks, the actor blows, and I am waiting for him to get stuck in an airlock and somebody 'accidentally' cycles it!!)
4 Neelix (Hedgehogs-in-SPACE!!!! 'Nuff said!)
5 Deanna Troi (Counselor? Why? Can you say Character Development!! The outfits in the early shows were good, but...)
6 Jake Sisko (Tried it with Weasely. Didn't work then, still isn't working!)
7 Seven of Nine (38 of DD) (Changed the charcter to Weasely Crusher of Voyager. Can you say Window Dressing. I have worked security for Mrs. Ryan at several cons, I like her, not the Character!!!!!!)
8 Harry (Let's whine about my life) Kim
(Good God!!! Seven Years and STILL an Ensign means it must be something besides bad character development!!!!!!!)

Benjamin Sisko - totally amoral and way too aggressive
Worf - a.k.a. The Stiff Wuss
Seven of Nine - rehashed idea, plot device, ratings booster, you name it..
Jadzia Dax - no character development in 6 friggin' years!!!
The comic-book villain formerly known as Gul Dukat - in season 6 & 7
VOY - Apart from The Doctor and Paris everyone's a sleeping pill to me


TOS - I never really watched TOS, so I'm not rating any of those characters.
