Leutennant Commander Romero moves in behind Vulson as he continues scanning the cloaked ship, observing the readings herself for a moment. She turns to Captain Grimm.

"Sir, would it be worthwhile to take a couple pallets of the lateral sensors offline and recalibrate them to get a better track on our guests?"

Assuming she gets a positive response, she'll get to work on this right away, perhaps enlisting some help from engineering. Engineering: Systems roll of 15. See page103, Narrator's guide.

Assuming she gets a negative response, she will reply with an "Aye aye, sir," and await Aslan's return in the morning.

Fine by me. Before I say something else that doesn't sit well with Jacoby I'd rather keep my mouth shut, so we can forget about the sickbay scene for now.

OOG: Taking off sensor pallets requires at least 10 mins, as they have to be manually disconnected and such (think when Kirk went down to the Sensor dish in Generations). Also try and keep in mind that your sensors are very limited on this ship. She is made for fighting, first and foremost.

OOG: Are there answers folks are waiting for?

Or are we just hitting a lul?

OOC: Well, I'm just waiting for Captain Grimm to say that Alejandra's suggestion isn't worth the effort at this time, at which point I figure the next plot twist will arive.

So um, waiting for the next shoe to drop. Yeah, that's it.

And while Banockburn's TNG-style scientific sensors might be limited, I'd argue that, being built for fighting, she'd have pretty damn good sensors none the less. I've worked with a former Aegis cruiser CO lately, and I've heard stories about how much sensor data he had to deal with (i.e. almost too much to handle) Of course, that's neither here nor there as far as this situation goes.

I am not going to argue about anything, I have made a call on the sensors issue. She has less powerful sensors than the Enterprise, and remember that the Reliant couldn't even determine humanoid life on Ceti-Alpha V. Movie gen sensors are limited, plain and simple. Without a sensor dish (like on the Enterprise) you have limited range and mostly (not completely) tactical information coming in. Especially considering the Bannockburn is a Frigate and not a scientific ship by any stretch of the imagination.

Just making sure we are all clear.

Okay, I'll take the the "letting you know" part here and say:

    Get On With It!!!

Now I bet there are a few people around who haven't had a chance to respond before I did, but I bet everyone is at least as eager as I am to get this show on the road again.

It's a lull. You provided answers four days ago, and pretty much everyone who may have wanted them has posted something on the boards since then. I think we are just waiting on either:

the Captain to make a decision about the damn sensor palettes; or
the Narrator to move events forward.
And certain of us hope to move backward as well, so we can get a sense of where our characters fit into the unfolding story.

Well, I'll not say the sarcastic comment. Let's just play, or let's go home.

Actually, Grimm is awaiting Romero's response to the above post, despite the fact that he already knows the answer.

OOC: Color me embarased, I guess you are. Sorry about that, everyone.

Alejandra begins to open her mouth to reply, but stops. She leans in over Mr. Vulson and a quick whispered conference about the Northampton class's capabilites takes place. She turns to face Captian Grimm with an appologetic expression on her face.

"At least ten minutes, sir." She shoots a sidelong glance towards where McKeown continues to collect readings on what is presumably Deep Star 6. "Never mind, sir, I think the sensors have a more pressing task..."

OOC: Well, her service prior to this has been on larger, more extensively equipped ships, so a little ignorance in the heat of the moment isn't totally out of the question, right? At least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it...

Matthew smiles slightly, casting a bemused glance at Commander Rostoff before responding, "Carry on, Ms. Romero."

(OOC: Okay, I think we're ready to fast forward. )
