Is Braga leaving Star Trek?????

I'm pretty sure that B&B don't even know about the "impending" Earth-Romulan Empire War. And I'm pretty sure they'll ignore the Centauri issue altogether because of their lack of knowledge thereof. How hard would it be for them to hire a 'continuity' editor of some kind? I'm sure that they could even ask a local ST fan who would love to do it for free (or trinkets).

The only thing I'll hand over to SW (God I hate SW BTW) is how they've managed to keep continuity fairly consistant.

I just hope that they will get off the main arc (TCW). And I mean, no more getting visitor from the future advising and guiding (in one word, "meddling") Archer & Co. to getting on-track with the Birth of the Federation.

Which its clear (at least to me) is where they will start to go. I am hoping the foreshadowing in the season finale is an indication of the direction.

Personally I see them move towards to Romulan War, with the ultimate end of this being the formation of the UFP.

I know it feels like Babylon 5 and Andromeda, but gathering allies to fight the Romulan War would be a cool way of doing the series for this point on. A tad derivative but cool.

I can respect that position, especially since I never really had a chance to see the original show. Unlike such favorites as Emergency!, Adam 12 (I can't remember if that was the name of the show) and Star Trek, I never caught MI in reruns.

My loss, I suppose.

But, at least I didn't have anything to compare the movie to, which made it easier to enjoy.

The trouble with that is that there is very very few canon evidence of the Earth-Romulan war being so impending AFAIK, and little to none as to what the Centauri issue is. So, unless this continuity editor would be also taking into account the Trek lore that has been building up along the years, I don't really see how he could force B&B to include the Rom-Earth war for canonical reasons.

The TOS episode 'Balance of Terror' explicitly states that there was a war a century earlier between Earth and the Romulans.

True, but AFAIK they never gave exact dates, star or otherwise. And when events pass into distant history (beyond about 50 years), folks tend to approximate. For at least ten years, I've heard folks refer to the American Civil War as having happened "a hundred and fifty years ago", even though that's not *technically* true yet and won't be for a few more years...

As of right now, I live less than a hundred miles from the battlefield, and have been there several times. Take that, ye scurvy dog!

That is very true.

I also tend to take any details from TOS with a grain of salt, concidering much of what we consider Trek continuity was being formed over the seasons and often was internally inconsistant (like Starfleet/UESPA and United Earth/UFP, etc).

I generally use the TNG as a benchmark for canon dates rather than TOS.

Still, even if you believe that TOS' date for the Earth-Romulan war aren't precise but are approximate in the sense of "150 years since the American civil war", you still can't deny that the previously established canon says that there should be an Earth-Romulan sometime relatively close to Enterprise.

I expect we won't see it actually happen on Enterprise but that we will rather see it hinted as impending, because it won't be very good television to have the Enterprise crew never see a Romulan. I still think that, if Enterprise gets a longer run than 4 seasons, we will see something about the Romulan war, just not the war itself.

Y'know, I just thought of something: With Crewman Daniels' meddlilng in time, and Archer's refusal to follow his advice, this might be the very thing that causes the Earth - Romulan War. . . .

The only real dating we have on the Earth-Romulan War is that it was just before the founding of the UFP. The adet of the UFP's founation we know is 2161. If Enterprise runs the full 7 seasons, it ends in 2157, leaving a window of about 4 years for the Earth-Romulan War.

As far as the Alpha Centauri issue goes, the only thing ever established is some connexion between it and Cochrane. The concept that it was a founding member of the UFP comes from Franz Joseph Technical Manual and has never been established on screen.

Provided your not joking, I can see this as being plausible. Daniels did say the formation of UFP happens on Earth and not on Babel.

No, I'm not joking. It could be a great story. As for the UFP forming on Babel: Unless you know something I don't, there's no canon information to that effect. It's never been said exactly where the Federation officially formed.
