    Exclamation

While so many of us are still mourning the loss of Ronald Reagan, I honestly believe this tribute thread -- in danger of being hijacked for a political discussion -- have outlived its usefulness. Anyone who wishes to offer their message of sympathy and condolence may do so at this link:

If the thread starter would not mind, I'll request the moderator to close this thread.
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

But that's the problem that has derailed this thread from a memorium to a debate. You don't need to explain your personal feelings. It's sufficient that you liked him. If you feel the need to explain them to someone who asks, a PM works well enough.

I'm certainly not going to go into detail here about my personal views on the man. As I said before, I think it's sufficient to honor him because of his position, and to show sympathy for the family because of what he and they went through and suffered. Anything else makes it political when it doesn't need to be.

    Nor should it be.

My point is, regardless of your politics, there is sufficient reason for an American citizen to honor the man.

Due to the political nature that this thread began with/now enbroiled within and the direction it appears to be going...

... I have closed this thread as a result of its divergence from tribute to that of political discussion.
