Hey everyone. I am working on a campaign in which the player get sucked through a wormhole, which transports them back in time to an alternate modern day Earth(90's-2001). The players become tied up in a large scale war on this alternate earth while trying to find a way to escape. I need some help converting stats to Modern day equipment.
I need stats for:
1) Modern day military vehicle and weapons (Humvees, Bradley FV's, Tanks, Comanche Helicopters, M60 Machine Guns, ect)
2) Overlays for modern military personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Special Forces)
3) Any other information that anyone can offer!
All help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Sounds like an interesting campaign, while I can help you little with the stats, I can tell you that the characters should be unable to use most of these. The are after over 300 in the future. Using a tank for them would be like us using a cannon:
" How do I load this thing, computer targeting sensor..."
"What do you mean their are no targeting systems, and why does it smell in here?"
Another point i'd like to bring up is that your PC's will have knowledge far more advanced. This will create situations like:
"Sir, if we focus the ray and repolarize the...(StarTrek Jargon) we could increase the yield of this weapon."
Some Earth officer: "What?!"
That seems hilarious to me as your pc's will try to explain their idea to the earthlings, like Sir Isaac Newton explaining to me the Theory of Relativity...ugh. Still it will make for good roleplaying. Another last thought, are all your players human?
"Hey you...what are those things sticking out of your head? Antennas? SECURITY!!!"
Actually, not to nit-pick...yeah, I'm nitpicking, but Sir Isaac Newton would probably have had a problem relating the Theory of Relativity to anyone. It was Einstein who did the Relativity thing. Isaac did gravity and motion and that really cool cookie.

Is it really necessary to create full game stats for most vehicles? I'd think for the most part that you could simply use real-world stats for most of them.
As far as weapons go, I believe Holodeck Adventures gave some basic stats for a few small arms.
Thanks for the responses (those of you who didn't use the post to argue the theory of relativity) . I do have Holodeck Adventures, I will pull it out again and give it a once-over. To answer the question as to whether I need stats for all vehicles, weapons, ect... the answer is yes. I plan to have the PC's spend a great deal of time in this alternate Earth. The plan is that they will be very limited by what they can do. (ie. they will not be able to use their phasers, transporters, their ship, or most of their technology for fear of it changing the Earth's natural progression) The players will not have the weapons skills, and will be forced (sort of) to learn them. Some of them may have fired guns on the holodeck, which will help. I want this to be a campaign rather than a one shot "Ooops we're lost. Oh, wait there is the ways out... Let's go!" kind of thing. Also, the crew has two Andorian PCs and a Vulcan PC. Other "alien" species are also on board as NPCs. I hope this will make for an interesting hide-and-seek kind of mission. (ie. what will the players do if they are seen? kill the witness? (I hope not), try to explain where they came from? destroy themselves and evidence of their existence to protect the Prime Directive?)
