Thread: StarTrek RPG Conversions

  1. StarTrek RPG Conversions

I appologize now if this is incorectly placed, but I am a Big fan of both StarWars and StarTrek. At the moment I am playing D20 Style StarWars and would like conversions of things like StarShips, Weapons, Equiptment , Races (which include the Borg) over to the D20 format. For those familiar with both games you may be able to do this. I dont know what Dice system the Star Trek Rpg is based on but it's not something familiar to me. Any help would be appreciated!

Star Trek uses 2d6.. which is about all the conversion i can help with. Other than the fact most f the coda races can be used directly in d20. most of the info is pretty close. The ships are much different. weapons are much different as well..
May your worlds be at peace. Never assume, that the pointy eared first officer is Vulcan.

  3. Thanks, if anyone has further help it would be appreciated. Although this helps a little

If you're looking to convert to CODA, you'd be much better off asking in the CODA area.

  5. NO im not converting to Coda, I want to get it converted to Table Top D20 StarWars RPG.

I too play d20 Star Wars and Coda Star Trek I have found the easiest way to make comparisons is this. Attributes in Coda are .6 what they would be in d20 Star Wars. So far I have only converted characters from d20 to Coda and not the reverse. I did come up with a formula for skills however when going from d20 to coda. Simply take the TOTAL skill bonus in d20 and find the square root then take this amount and multiply it by two. Example Someone with Spot +25 in Star Wars would have Observe (Spot) +10 in Coda. Once this number is found subtract the attribute bonus from the Coda character and the number left over is the amount of levels the character in coda had to spend in order to get his skill at that bonus. You can also use this formula to find the characters Armed and Ranged combat skill bonuses in Coda, just treat the total melee and ranged attack bonuses in the d20 PC's sheet the same as you would skills. Edges are like Feats. Levels and Advancements are a little more complicated to figure out. I recommend using the skills as your basis either way.
One last thing Force points! They are different than Courage points, and must be treated as such. Take the bonus the character gets i.e. 5d6 equals 30 for example and times it by .6 this will give you the bonus to add to the charaters rolls should the need arise to use a Force point in Star Trek. Hope this helps you out.
