    Alas. In his music, Ray Charles gave us a legacy for the ages. His passing merits, for me, far greater mourning than for our former president. Teach the angelic choir well, Ray... heaven needs your joyful noise.

    I don't like it when an artist puts his own "spin" or "interpretation" on a classic tune. But I'll always make an exception for Ray's spiritual rendition of "America the Beautiful". We've lost another national treasure.
