    Thumbs down

Well, I hat to disagree with you StyroFoam Man, but Armada worked fine (minus a couple of crashes during the end ofmissions ) on my computer, and it sure as heck ain't top notch. A friend of mine with a computer that's shot to he** tried it out on his computer and it worked. The graphics were a little out of wack, but hey, it worked.

Also, Star Trek Away Team just came out. Already played the demo, interesting. The official site is www.stawayteam.com

Oh and StyroFoam Man. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to get on your nerves. I think Armada's a #%&*^ sometimes, to.

Oh and Dan, get to work on those Dominion Wars Conversions. I'm planning to have a giant fleet in an upcoming campaign, thanks.

Birth of the Federation is always a bit of fun if you like stategy games.

I have just recently found myself playing it again after a 6mth+ lapse!

And boy I'm having fun again!

Not a vital system! What the heck do you think stops the ship going 'poof' every time it goes to warp?

    can't get it working..pity
as easy as it is to modify the game you can't recognise mine with the original.
such as adding the enterprise d with phaser cannon.
making the borg the way the borg should be..
and adding dominion forces to the game whoo,hoo...
the only gripe I have found is networking...crashes alot and I had to improve the ai theirs didn't do so great even on hard...

(Now I have to go find my copy. Its in a box somewhere....)
    </font>
So THATS the way to deal with the Borg cubes? Problem I had is that the only time the borg ever showed up, I ended up with 4 Borg Cubes attacking at once... Which made it a little more difficult...

The only thing I would have adjusted if I could
I would have increased the number of species to work and interact with... As well as adjusting the AI to suit cultural standards... How many times do the Klingons run away from a fight? Especially over Qo'Nos?

I would have liked to adjust the ships as well, perhaps changing the ship in use as it increased...

    Such as Oberth to Nova
    Constellation to Intrepid
    Miranda to Sabre or Steamrunner
    Ambassador to Galaxy
    Add Excelsior to Akira...
Add the Constitution class somehow... It is the Birth of the Federation...

And keep the Defiants Pulse Phasers...

Dont get me wrong I love the game a still play it regularly, but there were grips that just made it a Strategic Sim but not quite a perfect 'Star Trek' to me...

But then, thats why we roleplay... To make our perfect game...

There's certainly cheats and alot of trainers/editors about.

The Borg aren't usually a problem.

I tend to send a fleet of 10+ Galaxy's and some other support ships upto another 10 perhaps. And only loose 5-6 ships at most; and they always take out the Oberth first

Although one game I had 5 cubes turn up progressively across 10 or so rounds. My fleets just couldn't respond in time and was lossing to many planets.

Thats when I stopped playing... until now.

I've got a kickass game running now!
