How to break down doors ?

    Salutation to all !

I wonder... How do you procede for breaking down doors without any siege weapon ? At the page 47 of the core book under the chapter strength they say that this attribute can be used ``... to smash open locked doors. `` But to my knowledge I have not found the mecanics of this action.

    If someone could help ...

    Thanks

Well, if it works like the Trek version -- each kind of door would have an armor rating: the amount of damage it can absorb, and the amount it can sustain. Each attack, the 'absorb' value is subtracted from the total, and whatever is left over gets by. When that amount exceeds the 'sustainable' total, the item is considered wrecked enough thatt it no longer protects. Or, in this case, that it is passable.

A thin wooden door absorbs 6 points from each attack, and can sustain 5 points before it is destroyed. A reinforced metal door absorbs 14 points and can sustain 20. It's clear that some kinds of objects can't be destroyed by the kind of damage a typical player can bring to bear (such as club, sword, etc.)

These rules are on the Narrator's Guide, pp. 91-92 if you've got access to a copy.

See "Armour and Cover", along with Table 9.18 on page 232 of the Core Book. And, yes, it works the same way it does in Trek.

Ok.. now I do feel like an idiot
I do understand table 9.18 ... It's the way to do it !!!
Let me explain ... Do they have to use their siegecraft skill , or is it unarmed combat and so on...

And how do you determine the TN ?

    Thanks

It's a standard attack, really. So using a sword or an axe would use Armed Combat, unarmed attacks would use Unarmed Combat.
