It's like watching a horrible accident in slow motion. I can't really say it's funny.
Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

My roomate said it best. It is just plain mean, not funny.
Oh come on! They think they can sing! This show is too funny! I know three people from around my hometown who should be on this show.
I only watch American Idol to see the misguided souls who think they can sing get put in their place. . .after they have their talent for the show I stop watching.

Being tired of Reality TV , I was already predisposed to avoiding this offerring. Then I saw a commercial and would rather sell my TV that watch this.

But that's the thing. They're coaxing the victims into thinking that they're good enough to be pop stars, and they're stringing them along until they finally drop the bombshell.Originally posted by redwood973

It's like when the local college fraternity choose one poor soul into thinking he's a shoo-in as a pledge when they're only amusing themselves just for kicks.
I just hope the winner will get more than a million dollar for the hoax being played on.

Well. The accident is over. Jamie the blonde won. And when she was told it's a hoax, it went over her head like Jessica Simpson, at least that's what it looked like to me.
Oh, and she got a $100,000, a portion of which is a recording deal.
Would it be too insensitive that I was rooting for Mario?
P.S. Ooh! The Next Action Star is on!![]()

Amen. As an actor these shows have been death to the industry, less dramas, comedys, etc and more reality shows means less work for actors.Originally posted by Lt.Khrys Antos

So I will be very very happy when this fad passes.
That's funny. Various sites claim that the people in these so-called REALITY shows are actors. Like the latest NBC offering, For Exposure or Money . Before the first show had aired, newsgroup people had already found agent / resumes for the principles on-line.Originally posted by AslanC

At least with the Next Action Star, that vehicle is a bit more true. Yet I can't help but wonder why producer Joel Silver would sink this low. Probably has to do with the last two Matrix films that bombed the box office.

I've been reminded that it used to be game shows. Every up and coming actor or wannabe made an appearance on shows like The Dating Game.Originally posted by REG
