    He claimed he missed the thieves intentionally. He was firing into the ground (the street) to purposely miss them. Bullets bounce of course, which he should have known both as a serviceman who was in Vietnam and as a member of the NRA. Discharging a firearm in city limits was illegal. I don't know why the cops didn't pursue it. maybe they did. He's not around anymore.
