    Coda Rules

    Hey All!

Thanks to Doug, I wanted to bring something up to everyone.

If you haven't already, you may want to go pick up the LOTR Rule Book.

It has alot of great idea's and rules inside it.

Both systems are compatible with each other!

For a long time I have looked for a Sci-Fi game and a Fantasy game that used the same rule system and I have finally found it.

I am here to say that I love the CODA system and for those who want to, definitely go pick up LOTR!

It makes the Holodeck so much more fun!

My game last night had the crew in the Holodeck.
They passed through a spacial anomally (thanks Voyager) and the Holodeck malfunction (doesn't it always.).
The program that was running was the Battle of Gondor from Return of the King.
The crew could not get out of the holodeck.
Did I mention that the Holodeck safetys malfunctioned?
You should have seen the PC Captain running from the Nazgul!
He didn't have one skill level in Armed Combat!
All those advancements spent on Energy Weapon!
    LOL!
Thank God for the first officer!
He ran in there and pulled the Captain out of harms way.

You guys should try it sometimes.

    It was a riot!
If Matt Damon is going to be Captain Kirk, does that mean Ben Affleck is gonna be Mr. Spock?

Erm Space Cadet.. What was the point of that?

Stule; yes the systems are fairly compatible, but I do have to say that if your captain has ranged combat: energy weapon - then he could have picked up a spear or bow!

As is always the case in these epsides - why do the crew always confront the danger - if I was in a holodeck and it malfunctioned I'd be thingking... now where is the safelly padded room of softness - a massive army is invading.. err ok now where is the back door

Agreed. That was rather uncalled for.

I purchased LOTR last year, and in addition to running a non Middle Earth fantasy campaign, I use the rules for many other projects.
I am currently working on creating a combined rules set using the best of both games to cover all time periods, from swords and sorcery through modern to sci fi. I expect it will be quite a while before I finish, especially as I have to fit work on it into all the other things I am doing both in gaming and my real life. But bit by bit it is coming together.
But I can highly recommend the game to anyone interested in expanding their CODA experience.
