    [ICON] resistance

resistance equals fitness plus vitality (plus armor). So a guy with a Fitness of 3 and a Vitality of 1 and no armor has a Resistance of 4.
So, if he takes 25 points of damage from one hit he would be killed instantly, is this correct?
If this is correct then I think either the weapons are overpowered or the characters are too weak. Ofcourse you can kill someone with just one phaserhit, but in you can kill a man with one hit from a sword aswell (unlike in D&D, in which you need to hit the man more than once).

    Can someone help me out?

    Thanks

No, in that case, when you take 28 points of damage (at one time) you die.

And yes, Trek is a very lethal genre, that's why my players like to max out dodge.

Another thing Phoenix (the GM in our game) tries to do is, in ranged personal combat, keep the bad guys roughly using the same settings on their weapons as we do on ours. We've got alot more players keeping of our charcters to the stun settings, which in return keeps the damage we typically receive in the survivable range.
