    Unhappy Scotty's not doing well...

Actor James Doohan is apparently suffering from Alzheimer's.

Oh god, and here I was hoping that the scene from Knight Rider 2000 was just a parody...

I honestly don't know how to respond to this sad news.

I can only express my gratitude for his contribution to Star Trek. Thank you for being "Scotty."
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

There's a scene in the "Knight Rider 2000" TV-movie where Knight runs across (almost over, IIRC) a very confused Jimmy Doohan who's talking like he thinks he's Scotty.

I never did find that scene particularly funny.

    Especially not now.

I'm impressed and amused you could recall a scene from the Knight Rider 2000 TV-movie.

But I'm sure that Mr. Doohan's comedic acting is deliberate, just as his comedic scene in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier ("I know this ship like the back of my hand." *Scotty banged head on bulkhead and knocked out*).

You're forgetting that he had just been zapped by some sort of stun weapon by KITT. So of course he was disoriented and confused.

Yes, it is sad to hear.

It was TOS that got me into Star Trek in the late 70's.
