Now I know what exactly your problem is. The 1.5 seconds were just an example. The discharge times vary considerably from one setting to another. Here is a list I posted previously on an other thread:
As you can see you would theoretically be able to dire 24 shots on the first setting. I decided to go with a much lower value since I didn't want to have phasers practically firing in autofire mode.
I never intended the RoF values to be used as a basis for determining whether it is possible to use a continuous beam to cut through obstacles. Although I admit this would be the logical conclusion.
I'd say that a type II can use the "cut" settings until it runs out of power, a type I might be more limited.
And I noticed one terrible mistake I made ( at least terrible for the CODA users, I hope those still using the ICON rules will protect me ) I calculated the RoF values based on 5 second rounds, not the 6 second rounds CODA uses. I'm sorry.
I intend to fix this, but I won't have access to my own computer for 1 week, so you'll have to wait until then.
