    ICON Template Request

I am looking for the following race templates. If you have them, could you please post them? I'd appreciate it very much!

    +Caitian (from TAS)
    +Deltan
    +Saurian
+Efrosians (which CODA is calling Atreonids)
    +Denobulan

Most of these are available in CODA format, but not ICON, so far as I know.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

These are all (except Denobulans, whicxh hadn't been seen back then, and Saurians, whci I'm currently working on)) in the old TrekRPG.net materials I have and have been trying to get up on Memory:ICON. I'll make an attempt to get the Species section up ASAP. So much data to translate, so little time!

Thanks, Owen. If I can be any help at all, please let me know.

Edit: BTW...I found Denobulan stats in the Enterprise Netbook linked on your site.

Edit again: And I found the Deltans and Efrosians in the Movie Sourcebook Netbook. They also list the Harashi, but I'm not sure if those are supposed to be the same as Caitians.

Looks like Saurians are the only one I need now.

Thanks again for providing those great links!

Here's Patrick Murphy's Caitian Template from the original TrekRPG site:

    Species Template: Caitian
    By Patrick M. Murphy

A felinoid species belonging to the Federation, the Caitians are lithe and dexterous creatures.

    Attributes
    Fitness 2 [5]
    Coordination 3 [6]
    ..Dexterity +1
    ..Reaction +1
    Intellect 2 [5]
    Presence 2 [5]
    Psi 0 [5]

    Skills
Any Science (choose Specialization) 1 (2)
    Culture (Caitian) 2 (3)
    History (Caitian) 1 (2)
    Language, Caitian 2
    World Knowledge (Cait) 1 (2)

    Typical Advantages/Disadvantages
Excellent Balance +1, Excellent Sight +2

and another version by Davy Jones:

    Species Template: Caitian
    By Davy Jones

Caitians are graceful cat-like humanoids from the planet Cait. They are well-known by their love of art and recreation, and are sometimes characterized as frivolous. Their world is a lush jungle, and ancient Caitians had few real predators. They evolved into a culture with few real needs, and were able to concentrate on the finer things. This matriarchal society practices equality at every level; even Caitian names have no gender preference.

    Attributes
    Fitness 2 [5]
    Coordination 3 [6]
    ..Dexterity +1
    ..Reaction +1
    Intellect 2 [5]
    ..Logic -1
    Presence 2 [5]
    ..Willpower -1
    Psi 0 [5]

    Skills
Artistic Expression (choose Specialization) 1 (2)
    Athletics (choose Specialization) 2 (3)
    Culture (Caitian) 2 (3)
    History (Caitian) 1 (2)
    Language, Caitian 2
    World Knowledge (Cait) 2 (3)

    Typical Advantages/Disadvantages
Excellent Balance +1, Impulsive -1, Night Vision +1

    Author's Notes
This version of the Caitian is a little more extreme, exemplifying (exploiting?) their more hedonistic background (according to some descriptions of the race).

Thanks once again for all the great information.

You don't happen to know where I can get a better quality picture of a Betelgeusan or a Tiburonian do you? I'm building my player races page. (In case you want to click on any, only the Vulcan is working right now).

Is there any indication that the Enterprise-B science officer played by Jeanette Goldstein (Vasquez in Aliens) was Betazoid? Just curious - there's nothing to say she wasn't, as Betazoids closely resemble Humans...

Personally, I'd label the Caitain a Caitian, not a "Harashi" or even a "Regulan" (with apologies to S. John Ross).

One other thing - why the pop-up style windows? Very, very annoying. There are those among us who A) don't like pop-ups of any sort, and B) do not like having a site make our toolbar disappear. Bad webmaster, BAD!

As to your first question, the answer is no. I just needed to find a picture I could use for a Betazoid that wasn't wearing a TNG uniform, and I didn't want to use Lwaxanna Troi, so I fudged it.

Good idea on the Caitian. I felt a little wierd listing them as Harashi, anyhow. I didn't call the Efrosians, Atreonids afterall.

And now for the popups. The reason I made them that way was so that they didn't have to navigate away from the race page. I suppose with the nav menu system, it doesn't truly matter. Is there any other way you can imagine that working? I suppose I could have a hover-over Javascript caption...but that might be even more annoying.

And anyhow, I'm not THAT bad. The page isn't even linked to the rest of the site yet. The only link to it is here, so it real purpose is only to annoy you. lol

I don't have a problem with them opening up in a new page, but make it a full page by default - if someone is running their browser in a reduced window, and don't use Javascript to eliminate the taskbar. Window size and the taskbar should both be user-side

Simply put a target="top" statement in the a href ("top must be all lower case) to open a new window rather than getting fancy - but that's just me.

'Nother really fiddly point - the stats will be much more readable if you don't double-space them.

Really, really fiddly point - the photomanip of the Orion doesn't work for me - it looks way too CGI, especially with the bright green skin. I can probably find a good pic of Susan Oliver or Yvonne Craig as Orions if you'd like. The images of the Betegeusan and of Skip Homeier as a Tiburonian are adequate, but I'll take a look in my files to see if I have anything better.

Well. If it helps, I also had a couple of species worked up, including the ones you were after. With Caitian and Denobulans worked out among others.

    Species Template: Denobulan
    By DanG

A Species with a long history alongside the Federation. A highly developed and advanced culture, they had been allied and trading partners of the Vulcans prior to Earth’s first contact in 2063, and were among the first few alien species that humanity encountered.

As a species they value openness and knowledge and display a gregarious, outgoing nature, that seems to set them apart from the emotionless Vulcans. As a species they extol the virtiues of learning and the arts, and are strong in Artistic and Scientific fields (they are open to both advanced and alternate paths of learning, and have long combined the two), along with an open, curious nature that seems to embody the Vulcan philosophy of IDIC, it is little wonder that both Vulcans and Denobulans became firm friends and staunch allies. And the highly adaptive and emotional nature of the species enabled a link with the Humans, the two species becoming firm friends at speed. Many conjecture that the Denobulans were the bridging factor between the Vulcans and Humans allowing the core of the Federation to firm up during the early years allowing the two species to work past their differences and become the allies that would eventually form the Federation. Indeed, the Interspecies Medical Exchange program active in the mid 22nd century was indeed an effort to help bring the two species together, initiated by the Denobulan medical council.

While the Denobulan’s were not among the first 5 founding members of the Federation, they did however retain a close alliance, until their full membership was approved shortly afterwards, and since that time the Denobulans have become staunch supporters of the Federation.

Denobulan Culture accepts polygamy, and the number of wives taken by an individual can be viewed as a sign of status, although Monogomist marriages are not unheard of. This is an established practice as Denobulan males are outnumbered by females. The most common marriages leave the average Male Denobulan with between 1-3 wives…

The Denobulan’s are humanoid in nature, with a pair of cartilage ridges that run from their cheekbone to the top of their forehead, where it tends to disappear under a high receding hairline. Their facial muscles are densely packed, and this is most obvious when a Denobulan grins, giving them a far larger smile than would seem possible.

    Attributes

    Minor annoyance.

DanG could you size your link a bit smaller? Makes reading your posts a bit, well not difficult. . .I just like being able to read the posts without having to slide the screen around. The larger your post the worse it is.
