A www. Page for .pdf Files

As these boards will most likely be no more, and the FBR does not allow for the posting of files I have been considering creating a small page for posting the .pdf files I make.

As I know very little about computers or code or servers and what not, I had been thinking a Yahoo! Group would be the easy way to go. But I get the impression that most people do not like those. I also would like to avoid having the page time out due to limits (I doubt there would be that much traffic, so that probably would not be a problem. . .but still I would like to avoid it). It would not need to be very large. . .it would only have a dozen or so files, with new ones added every so often.

Any ideas where I can go that is very, very simple to use; costs nothing; and won't have too much of a band restriction?

Avoid the Yahoo group. It's a pain...

Setting up a web page is really easy; you can DL for example the Mozilla suite http://www.mozilla.org which integrates a good WYSIWYG HTML editor. It's free of course.

As for hosts, there are a lot of hosts out there which are free, but I don't know the good ones...

If you have a yahoo ID I'd use geocities. Okay, there are adds, but at least it's free and much better than yahoo groups where you have to join in order to download anything.

If you like i can host some of the pdf files on my site. I don't know if geocities will allow the downloading of files. Last year i tried creating a webpage there to host a program and it was closed down. But i'll welcome any submissions if anyone has any.

Okay, so Yahoo! Group and Geocities are out. I am looking over the page KillerWhale pointed out. Any others? And what about a server?

I can probably set up an FTP account for you if you like and u can upload the file on the server.
