Not one-by-one, no. But if such folks are Legion, and some of those, er, Legionnaires, were some of the folks that brought up cool topics, posted nifty ideas, and so forth, the forums do lose by their lack of participation.

Me, I'm torn -- I'll hold out and see what the final decisions are, but I didn't even know the site was back either, until someone pointed it out to me.

Perhaps we could divide the membership list up between us, contacting everyone with an e-mail address listed?

A little note letting them know that TrekRPGNet is back on-line, and a nice polite little invitation to rejoin the community?

Thanks to Gandalf of Borg, I'm back! We should post in whatever forums we know there are other former Trek RPG net'ers and tell them to come back.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Not to discourage you but I should point out that I had a difficult time contacting members using their email addresses when trying to drum up support for poll about the site. Some do not list email addresses or have invalid email addresses. Some I contacted never received my email. It may be because I used my Yahoo! email account.

it has to be noted that people need to be careful if they try and access the email database. I noticed a few months back, when I was looking at it, that many of the usernames are simply forged and the URL's that they list as homepages, are in fact links to p*rno sites.. basically it's just a tool they use to get their sites a higher linking on search engines etc. I didn't get an answer from Don when I notified him about it the lasst time, but then I think that's when he was going through changes, so again I would like to ask the moderators if they can weed out the obvious fake users (all of the above have post counts of 0)

I routinely did this, typically those that never confirmed their registration. About a year ago an image system went into place that prevented from bots from registering on the site to spam porn. A few of those accounts may exist but they are by far, the minority (less than 20).

I notice about 3 user off the bat that have R rated websites when I was look at the member listings. When the site went up I let Mangus Lundgren know and they have been removed.

I assume only an Administrator can remove them. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

    Duplicate accounts

I have also seen multiple accounts for the same person. A few days ago, I saw in the birthday list 2 user names that were similar: Capt. M**** and CptM**** (* are wild cards). They have the same webpage. I have tried to go back and find them, so Lundgren could merge or remove one of them, to no avail. Perhaps he already took care of them. I wonder how many are additional accounts for already existing users. It could be beign: forgot to register or lost password with not wanting to go through password recover/reset.

There are also a few duplicate accounts for people who were thrown off the boards too

I wasn't sure if anythig was being done to remove them or no, but it looks like people have been and were activelly removing them and the image system is a good idea, I've seen it used a few times, and short of employing artificial inteligence routines they can't exactly automate joining

If it were my site, I'd post on the forums at ENWorld and RPG (dunno if someone's done that).

I likewise was about to delete this site from my bookmarks, before discovering that it was alive and well.

    Yay!
