Well Steve did watch hundreds if not thousands of hours of the episodes to try to lock down the various starships abilities and represent what people see on the screen, so personally I'd at least when it comes to the canon ships give it a bit more credit for accuracy then other RPGs attempting to represent Star Trek.

But that is just my opinion, YMMV.

No no, you misunderstand. The 'Enterprise' is pretty damn-well detailed. It's not about the accuracy of what's there - just in choosing what's there in the first place.

Should I include the Larson and Locknar from FASA.. and if I do and there's a conflict with, say, that Taurus, which should I go with? If I use the USS Surya, and find that LUG uses a very similar ship, would it make sense to still use the Surya? That sort of thing.

It's a bit of a trick, there are a LOT of reused ship names between the various games and fan-works out there. When I finish building up the ship classes, I'm going to have to go through and check a registry/ship-name list.. and that scares me!

Okay, that makes sense. I suspect then it would come down to what each person, in this case yourself considers as appropriate source material for their campaigns and whether you will use one RPG's vision of the Trek-universe over another.

Trying to mesh all three would be a nightmare to some degree before you even add in fan material.

It's going.. more or less. At any rate I'm not quite having nightmares yet. I've also begun just putting some of the basics up on a web-page so I can easily view things and see where they can and can't fit...

Right now it's data-deficient, but I hope to get a lot of my notes transferred over in the next couple of days.
