Question Location of Romulan Scout Ship impulse drive

    Hi all,

I have recently begun working on deckplans for the Romulan scout ship. I am still in the early stages, I have just finished rough deck outlines, so there is plenty of work ahead.

My problem ist that I don't know where to place the impulse drive. Somewhere at the back, okay , but where exactly. Since there are no exterior structures similar to Starfleet impulse engines I am slightly uncertain. The only likely two options I am seeing are in the center and inside the "wings". However, since the Romulan science vessel is so similar in design but has a completely different central back piece (which is probably supposed to be a sensor array), the central option seems unlikely. On the other side, the sensor array would also partially block exhaust plasma/ions/whatever coming from the wings.

    So what do you think?

You might get a slight idea of what I am talking about if you look at the pictures from Ex Astris Scientia .

My theory on Romulan FTL/STL engines, their one in the same.

While that sounds inefficient, the Romulans must have found some way to perfect the design. I've never seen the exaust ports on a Warbird, Scout ship, or Romulan Runabout.

Well from the pictures we have I'd say it was either the glowing pannels at the very back of the hull or those vent like pannels on the back of the 'wings.. Since the glowing pannels, as you say, are different on the science vessel then it's more likelly to be those vent like structures.

It's the closest thing they have to it.
