    Lightbulb ST minis game

I'm considering making up a quickie Star Trek minis game similar to the Star Wars and D&D minis games. It would not be tied to one of the previous Trek RPG systems (though there would definitely be a d20 influence), and I'd leave any conversions to others Coupla Qs (thoughts very welcome):

Would there actually be any interest in such a thing?
Is there a preference for grid-bound or non-grid-bound play?

A couple elements I was thinking of incorporating, different than the inspirational games, are 1) the use of both stun and lethal damage, and 2) a system to add specific skills/abilities to characters for a point cost (for customized scenario victory conditions).

I'd think that the majority of folks interested in a Star Trek ship-based minis game already play Star Fleet Battles. Some friends and I were kicking around the idea of Star Trek HeroClix, though. . . .

I didn't state it explicitly, but I thought it was apparent I was speaking of a character-based game. There's plenty of ship-combat systems (I favor FASA's simulator myself). I've never even looked at HeroClix. Maybe I'll check out the rules.
