Lightbulb Looking for a ship design

Anyone have any recommendations for a ship similar to a B'rel for a federation vessel. Looking for one that can do a little bit of everything with a crew around 12 or so. Looking at DS9 era. Need something with pics of what it looks like at least.

    Thanks

    Defiant?

I heard that was a small ship with a small crew and can land and stuff.

You seem to be describing the Defiant down to a 'T', or was there something else you wanted the ship capable of doing that you didn't cover? The Defiant (and her sister ships) are small but powerful gunboats with abilties comparable to much, much larger Federation vessels. It also keeps a very small crew.

It is not, however, designed for long-term voyages, and requires a steady supply base. (Such as DS9, or other starbase).

Thank you both. But I was looking at a crew of about 12. I had considered the defiant but she outgunns most other stuff. But it's still a possibliity. I also saw the Ju'Day class has about 6-10 crew. Could also be a possibility.

The Defiant has a crew of 40, which was stated to be a 'bare minimum' to cover all the basic systems. Going to a crew of about a dozen, you'll get something like the 'Bird of Prey', which is probably a lot more limited than you're looking for. (Despite how it was used in Generations... )

Yeah. I'm looking to have to "run" as few npc's as possible.

I think the Federation ship that would fit your crew requirement would be the USS Oberth class, but you could rule out any engagements in that puppy (bravely ran away, away!).

I would grab the stats for the ST:III-era Bird of Prey, and assume a Federation ship designed on the same lines. It would effectively be a 'patrol' ship, designed for light duties.

You people are describing the Ju'Day to a tee, the ship also known as the Maquis Raider from Voyager.

IIRC, Owen has quite a write up at his cold north site. Deck plans, Icon stats, all sorts of goodies.

Yes, I was going to suggest that class too. Most of the Maquis vessels were of Starfleet origin, so it is a Starfleet design, and is fairly multifunctional.

theother design that could be stretched to what you need would be the 'Raven' class - http://www.ditl.org/hedship.php?fedraven

While i suspect it's not heavilly armed I don't think it would be tough to customise it to your needs, as it looks just like a big version of a Runabout

Yeah, I mentioned the Ju'Day in my initial post
