    The Post Enterprise Suliban

    Greetings,

Ever wonder what happened to the Suliban in the 23rd and 24th centuries? In my series, once the Federation got up and running, several thousand of them were offered the opportunity to settle on a newly opened frontier colony. They took it and by 2275 had turned the world into a dynamic self-sustaining world. They were granted full membership in the Federation in 2302. By 2350, they were making their presence felt in Starfleet.
Because of the Federation's treatment of them, the Suliban tend to be exceptionally loyal and supportive of the Federation. There are those who still follow the nomadic lifestyle as well as those take "the outlaws road" .

What does the assembled multitude think?

    Sounds good.

I don't like it quite as much as the Breen Hypothesis.

Therein the Suliban ran for the hills, rather than being on the losing end of things.

They then settled down on some planet far away, then eventually showed up in encounter suits as the Breen.

    Maybe combine the two?

Both are interesting ideas but for my own preference I would keep the two races individual.

Alas, I do not remember. Someone around here, I think. mea culpa.

They're probably just separate species, new encounters, and things like that. But, if you're of a conspiratorial bent, it might be something you could work with.

Eh. They were erased from the timeline when the TCW ended. Or they went the way of the Klingons and mysteriously and suddenly took on a completely different appearance and became some known species (other than the Breen). Or they were completely wiped out (by the Klingons?). Or they regressed technologically and are planetbound and completely unnoteworthy. Okay, okay. Frank Frey's idea would be more fun; it would be more fun to have them around and be able to play them in the game and have some of them in Starfleet. The Breen idea may be plausible, but I don't like it so much.

Well one of the Enterprise episodes does mention that the Suliban eventually become members of the Federation so we do know they are around presuming one acknowledges the events of Enterprise in their campaign's history.

Ah. I did not know that. So maybe my second idea would work, but probably not. So many species, so little screentime...

Well for our favorites we can showcase them in our campaigns. *grin*

Well with the TCW 'supposeedly over' then i would assume they've reverted to their pre-genetically enhanced selves and just another humanoid species in that sector T'pol mentions in Broken Bow.

I'd have to watch the episode again but I could see some backlash that forces them to withdraw and at least a few genetically-enhanced Suliban running around just to create havoc in the campaign universe if one plays in that era.

Well i suppose if some of them were talking to Future Guy at the time of the temporal 'storm' then the temporal shield could have protected them.

Anything is possible, especially in one's own campaign.

That and I have a neat idea shaping up for something rather amusing that may have players of mine crossing over into the Enterprise Universe.

On that note however, noting the time, I had best be off to bed.

so... previous events of the show no longer happened? Do characters have memories of things that didn't happen? Other than the Nazi stuff, that is.

Remember also that the Cabal - the enhanced Suliban - were very small in number, and given the way "Future Guy" doled out the enhancements, they were almost certainly not hereditary. I figure there may be a few enhanced Suliban running around, without guidance or support, probably hunted by everyone the pissed off, including other Suliban. I can see the Klingons being especially annoyed with them...
