The moratorium on political topics have changed. There is now a forum where political threads are allowed, called Sarek's Lounge. Outside the lounge is the moratorium still in effect.

I come here to talk about games and do not want to be reminded about real life issues:
Sarek's Lounge is a hidden forum and political discussions on the public part of the forums are still banned.

How do I access Sarek's Lounge:
Go to the UserCP, Miscellaneous, Group Memberships. Click Join Group for the Sarek's Lounge Membership Group. You are then added to a queue. Approval to the forum are done manually, so it can take a few days before the request are revieved.

Minimum requirement to access Sarek's Lounge are at least 3 month since registration at the forums, and a minimum of 10 no-nonsense posts (in example, a row of smilies or just a yes does not qualify).

Here is the text from "About this forum"
Welcome to Sarek's Lounge.

In this Lounge are political discussions allowed. The purpose of the lounge is to be able to share ideas and learn about other points of view. Not as a ranting space or a playing field for political agendas.

Keep your diplomatic hat or robe on while visiting this forum. If you read something that makes you angry, leave the keyboard for a moment and then come back and read the message again. The chance is that you have read something into the message that not was intended. Ask for a clarification instead of firing of a message in anger.

The normal forum rules applies here as well, including "play nice."

There is also a hard coded limitation on how many posts that can be done during a specific time period. The setting for those limits might be tweaked at any time.

The hard coded limitations are:
* A maximum of 10 posts during a 24 hour period for the forum
* A maximum of 3 posts during a 36 hour period for a single thread
