    Bakula: Enterprise Film Is Dead

    Bakula: Enterprise Film Is Dead
Scott Bakula, star of UPN's canceled Star Trek: Enterprise, told SCI FI Wire that plans for a movie based on the show were put on hold when the regime changed at Paramount and the network pulled the plug on the show earlier this year.

thats it! UPN is getting on my short list right after FOX... Do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It is very cold in space. I'll chase UPN 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round perdition's flames before I give Enterprise up.

You go over my head and break the chain of command like that again, ensign, and I'll whip you around so fast you'll think you're a first year cadet again.

With the first link the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, changes us all irrevokably. The first time any man’s freedom is trodden on, we are all damaged.

A brave little theory, and actually quite coherent for a system of five or seven dimensions -- if only we lived in one.

Well, I do blame Paramount for keeping Berman and letting him run the franchise.

I do blame UPN for not renewing ENT next season -- now that it has gotten good -- despite a very good price tag per episode from Paramount. What was it? $500,000 per episode? Barely for two Vulcan ears (T'Pol's), I'm surprised they're not naked ... err, when they're supposed to be in uniform.

I also blame Les Moonves, the head of Viacom -- parent company of subsidiaries Paramount, UPN, and CBS; among others -- for the strong rumor that he ordered UPN to get a better programming format for next season. That new format does not include ENT.
    Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...
