    BBC Apologizes To Who Star

The BBC, which earlier reported that Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston was leaving the show after the first season, issued an unusual apology to the actor for mischaracterizing his reasons for departing.

Oh after the recent scandal with the Hutton Inquiry, the BBC is most likelly to be extra cautious for some time!

I rather wish that they had decided not to go with Eccleston, and go with someone who was prepared to do a longer haul overall. They were probably trying to go for a big name (ish) however. Shame.

    **EEK** panicks, runs away

Not sure there. I quuite liked the idea of Anthony Stewart Head, though his style isn't quite Dr. Who, but then anyone can make the part their own I'd rather just see who came allong, and try not to cringe

Maybe John Rhys-Davies or the Harry Potter actor, or Colm Meaney.

    Best choice for the Doctor?

    Eddie Izzard or Bill Nighy.

However, Tennant has managed a particiularly droll portrayal of Casanova, and while he would not be my first choice, he wont be all that bad either.

Bill Nighy - man that would be funny ! Eddie Izzard.. hmm not sure how a transvestite Dr. Who would go down LOL

I haven't caught up with Cassanova yet, but I have heard good things. At least he would do it for a while, which is a good thing!
