    star trek clicks

Hi. I have to admit i am a bit over my head with this. I have always wanted to play a simplistic 3d star trek game and have been working on this little project that takes mikewebbs "full impulse" in a whole new direction. My only problem is converting the wheel data of crimson skies to star trek data. A very difficult task for a rookie. Could anyone offer help or suggestions? My gamer group loves the concept.

    here are some pics.

most games can be played between 1-2 hours with many ships. the crimson skies clicks were used and players never need to search for any book as all data is on the base or IN the base. The circle data on the inside is giving me a problem.

I have incorporated some of the rules of crimson skies as well...such as the fastest moving ship gets to fire first among other things. The clicks can carry an enormous amount of info... my gaming group really loves the merging of the hero clicks and star trek using full thrust (full impulse star trek version)

sorry about the bad pics my camara is cheap.

    Wow.......

Please keep developing this idea. I'd love to see a completed set of rules for it.

    Regards

    Vecna,

Looks great! Keep up the work!

For those that haven't seen Full Impulse, I have rules and over 100 ships statted out over at www.voidgamers.com under Scifi and then Full Impulse. We play full 3-d (and I run a few games every year at Origins), but it works fine 2d as well, and links pretty easily into an RPG if you are looking for fast and bloody resolution. It is based heavily on Full Thrust (thanks, Jon!), with mods to make it more treknologically compatible.

    Thanks Mike

I am not happy with the fact that it is hard to find cheap BLACK retractable antennas. I see them as part of a TV unit but they are 2 for $13. Very pricy. Furthermore its not as if u can use any stand like in your game....these are attached to the clicks so only that ship can use that stand. So they are not user friendly.

If the info on Top of the clicks could be removed and placed on top with ease then it would be a different story.

I purchased all of the crimson skies for $5/per clicks....a real steal (in canadian)

I had to streamlined your full impulse and modified 3d movement to climbing and decending at 45 degrees only.
Though I am testing Todd B (with hostile intent) but it is more involving with great ideas if you like more detail.

My simplification was to keep it simple on my firing arcs. So far the two firing arcs we use is 10 degrees for klingon ships like bop and 45 degrees up and down for such ships that have shown this feature like the galaxy class. No ship may go belly up from a roll (I just hate that) and if you can tell on my dial from the second pic all ships have a certain vulnerable point. (usually top or bottom)

the colored numbers on the dial have various meanings; photons, plasma, bonus to hit, captains skill, evasive, etc

let meknow if you come up with anything else that i overlooked
