    Well...heckidoodle!

Had a player roll a 61 last night on a test. We all watched the double six, followed by eight friggin' 6s in a row!

Anyone seen a result this high?

In my game, I believe we had someone get close to that once, but don't think we surpassed it. I'd have to check with Don...

Not in Trek, though I watched some guy do something similar in a Shadowrun game a couple of years ago. With honest dice.

    Were they honest dice?

Different game system, same mechanics, 54 I think was the total. The whole group just sat there in disbelief.

The highest our Trek group ever saw was I think a 47. A nice, sturdy prime number, like 61.

I once saw my friend roll high in Cyberpunk. The Narrator allowed max Dice rolls (on a D10) to add the result of the next dice and again if the next was a 10.

After several rolls, he ended up with a total of 95.

Trouble was he was trying to roll under a Cool stat of 8.

    So it failed.

Worse still it was to keep calm rather than cave into claustraphobia in a mini-sub. So he freaked, opened the hatch and let in all the water and pressure killing all of us instantly.

    Oops.

Theres a lesson to be learned in there, but by all accounts, only we players learned it...

We had some fairly high rolls with my group when playing D6 SW, but I don't remember the exact scores. And usually, those rolls belonged to the GM...

On a different genre, a player of mine managed to roll five ones in ICON Trek (that was his whole presence pool). And then there's my GF who rolled half her dice pool as ones in Vampire (and did so three time in a row ).

My 'Brick' character in a Champions game once took 29 body damage on 5d6...

Probably the most painful hit ANY character of mine, in ANY game has ever taken!
(Thank gawd for resistant defences, and a character with a regen power usable by others!)

    Cheers

Hmm yes the bucket of dice phenomena in WOD 1 used to yueild some trully horrendous damage rolls, especially for the minmaxer *coughs* *Peter* with his uber Gangrell.. but then it was fun to use the same thing back on him

I can't remember what the highest roll any of my players did was but it was pretty impressive, but then in Coda, with some career skills, and the respective bonus, you can get pretty high numbers.

In contrast one of my players suffered horribly at one of my house rules in my previous game.. he rolled double 1's about 6 times during the game, usually at a really inapropriate moment.. you know.. roll double one's and the borg assimilate your ship kind of thing Of course I don't think that was as funny as the Vulcan science officer's claim when the same thing happened to him.. "Nipples" - kind of stopped play for about half an hour while we stopped laughing

So what was the Stun X, we had a 6d6 RKA roll all 6's one time, the player offered to remove one of the die for a 6 on the stun. The GM stated "Nah, your goin' to blow it". The player rolled one last 6, as the GM just walked away from the table. Dr. D hath been beaten...that was a great night.

I once had an NPC in First Edition Star Wars rolling 2D6 hit multiple "Wild Die" 6s and end up with a total of 35. Bad news was the PC with a 5D6 Dodge failed miserably to evade this amazing roll.

Once in Cyberpunk I had two players make an Awarness/Notice check on a window. One player got like an 18 or so, the other player just kept dropping 10s in an open ended roll. The final number was 80 something... So I says...

"Seb you see a man in the window, he appears to be black and carrying some kind of gun. Leon, you see him too. He is Jamacian, from the south part of Trenchtown in Kingston and is carrying an Ak-47, the clip is worn and has some scuffing on the bottom... oh and he has a chipped tooth."

I mean what more can you do at that point?

I think it was the standard d6-1, but then he rolled a 5. 4*29=116 stun. 25 ED....'only' left me to deal with 91 Stun! LOL

On the plus side, with 60 STR, 28 CON and 15 BOD, he did have 60 Stun to begin with (spent an odd point of XP for an even number).

Still, first round of combat, down and dying......

'Anyone want tea or coffee? On second thoughts, I am going to the off-licence. Who want's booze? Mick, let me know if your guy gets enough time to stop me keeling over and shuffling off this mortal coil. I'll be back in a while.'

After that, the game only got better...
