Question Need Saber Class Deck plans

I'm looking for Saber class deck plans for our new campaign.

I've searched the site without luck and was hoping someone had them to share or knew where to go to get them.

Any one using a Saber for their own campaign?

In my mind I see it as a class as something some where between the Nova and the Intrepid class.

Opinions appear mixed as to weather it is a mixed mission’s ship or a bit of a combat monster as per the Defiant, what do people feel

Somethings seems to be wrong with your site, Evan. Some links, including the "Star Trek - RPG" link are broken, others open the requested page in the navigation frame.

That is strange, because I tried it out and nothing seemed to be wrong???

Well here is the link for the Main Star Trek RPG site:

Got the problem, Internet Explorer can read this, Mozilla obviously not. The links are written like this /.../.../order\mainindex which happnes automatically when I create the links, but mozilla seems to have problems with the \

I try to fix that - in fact I am currently working on a mjor overhaul fo the whole page, so I hope I don't have the same problem with the new one

BTW the one that opens in the nav-bar should be a seperate window, because it is a completely seperate site of mine about our Mage Chronicle, sorry for the trouble, I try to fix it asap - but the direct links I gave you should work

    Those links worked for me.

Hey that’s really great is that all original work by you? If so, well done. How did you arrive at scale? It feels a little more spacious then I imagined (a good thing).
I sort of thought it would have gang ways like the old NX's or the Defiant.

Maybe I have read too much open source/unix/linux literature, but it is all Microsoft's fault. '/' is the internet (Unix) standard. As so often, Microsoft decided to go in the exact opposite direction.

What dimensions did you use for the Saber? The 365m length mentioned in the DS9 Technical Manual, or less?

BTW, the new material on your site is really nice. Did I miss the announcements, or didn't you tell anyone about the finished netbooks?

Yep there is lots of nice stuff on that site, and I am browsing now.. and you should never trust Micro$oft Also never believe any of the vessel sizes in the DS9 TM, as they are all just about completelly wrong!

The Sabers size is another one of those things that is under strong contention as far as I can see.

Just like the mixed missions vs destoryer issue we have the ~100m vs the ~300 odd meters. I weigh in on the ~100 odd metters side, due to the retaking of DS9 episode, where a Saber and The Defiant are in attack pattern together and look very much the same size. The Defiant is often sited at around ~100+ so the ~130 odd looks about right to me.

I guess you missed the announcements

Yeah I figured it is a Microsoft thing!$!"!"§§$. Well, I cant access the ftp-server from here, so it will have to wait till tomorrow, but then it should be fixed.

I used the data given from "A Price of Freedom" to create those - there the ship is way smaller, which is the reason why I actually did it. A ship above 120m is hardly doable on a reasonable page size and scale. I know its not perfect, especially since there are some "blank spots" - but we do not know too much about Trek-ship technology anyway, so there is room in case you need an "Antimatter-Hyper-Flux-Calibrator" anywhere oin your ship. Its more to give an idea than to be perfect. In fact I was also surprised how large the ship actually is, but seeing that its around one-third of our todays aircraft carriers with one-percent its crew, it is not too surprising anyway

Glad you like it though - it was the second deckplan of that scale that I did - I began with the Nova-Class. The quality is not too good, since I used "Paint" for it, but I think it is ok.

I'm using Mozilla - the full thing, not just FireFox- and have never had a problem seeing and navigating the site.

However, Lycos has added a Flash hover-over advertisement (as opposed to a pop-up, which I have Mozilla set to kill on sight) directly over your deckplan. It's only covering the edge of the hull, but it is rather annoying, and if you had text ther they would be actively interfering with the proper operation of your website, which may be a violation on their end of your terms of service.

Although I can see the arguement for a Mutli-Mission Ship, I think she was originally designed as a combat scout. Going ahead of fleets to see what's out there. However, after the DW, I can see her being modified toa Multi-mission vessel. Yet, due to her original intent, her capabilities would be serverly limited.

I would invision this vessel working in groups of two or three, patrolling the frontiers. This way they can provide cover for each other, especially due to their very vunerable Nacelles.

I use a Saber Class Ship in my Campaign, and i strongly suggest to use it as a multimission ship. Since the crew is only a few dozen people, everything is quiet manageable as we even had a complete Crew Rooster that depicted lines of Command, responsibilities of crew members, Security Classifications and background notes.
A small crew also means that the player characters are more involved in almost any adventure (and they tend to be more cautios as there are not many redshirts around who can be wasted).

For those using Firefox, who have trouble with the hovering ads, I can recommend the 'Adblock' plug-in. I do not know whether it will work with Mozilla, as I have not used it that way. It will kill any ad I have yet found.

As a rule, I let sites I support serve me ads, but sites that insist on serving me ads that flash, play movies, are jarring colors, or play music or sounds get killed in a big hurry.
